Ditto Fins! (hey aren't you suppose to be hitting the books?)

FL was a pilots Chief Pilot!

Lets give Brad a chance. Remember when CT went off on the line pilots "I'm tired of hearing how the dam line pilots carry this place" Brad was the one who stood up for us.

Just mt 2 cents.

And Fins back to the books!

Brad is a good person, and I think he will do a good job.

My question is, why would he take the position?? It has to be the worst job at the company. No appreciation from the pilot group, and you have to have management breathing down your back all the time. It always has struck me as the "assistant principal" job of the airline industry. All you see is discipline and problems all day long.

More power to him!

He reminds me of the guy from the 'natural enhancement' commercials, you know,. smiling big and wide and with the half wave/salute thing,.. Defenitely a poster boy for management.

Fred on the other hand, was/is awesome. Ive never seen him grumpy...

He probably didn't want to take it, he was "assigned" it by the rest of FLT OPS management so they'd have one of their own in place. Why would he want to leave the air-conditioned comfort of the big gray box to come "slum it" over at the airport with the rest of us?

You might think he'll do a good job, but this whole thing smells bad...

Goodbye Fred..

Goodbye and good luck to one of the very best people we have ever had. We love ya Fred! Sure will be missed!
Brad is a total suckup-to to the extreme. I remember him from when he was an F.O. teaching systems. Not a good guy, not the type to ever stand up for any line guys. An embarassing suckup and I expect he will be a jackass as a CP. We don't have much over there anymore we can count on... There is pretty much no one over there I will go to anymore-just avoid that office at all costs-maybe Bob, but absolutely none of the others!
-Godspeed Fred!

give him a chance - he is a good guy and i think will do a good job. fred is tough to replace. bs taught my groundschool on the 200 about 8 years ago and was a great teacher. he just did my recurrent 3 months ago and it was the most fun one i have ever had, didnt seem pro management at all. dont know anyone who had anything bad to say about him.

Honestly, I have talked to Brad, and if this does not work for him I would not be surprised to see him leave aviation. He was getting burnt out on his previous job.
Fred is a great guy, and was an awesome CP. I am sure that he is just the guy the need in the SIMS. If he can't teach the new hires than no one can.

If it weren't for the above post, I'd have thought Brad was just doing this for resume material.

:puke:Yeah...RIGHT! I was in one of the RGT classes when he went off on how stupid line pilots were...you know, we don't live in his little bubble up there in his perfect little office! All I can say about him...CYA!!! Another step in the WRONG direction for ASA! SH!T!

Of course he looks stressed out. I would bet a goodly percentage saved their isssues for when Fred or Bob were around. They got a bigger dose of cr@p just because they had/have some empathy for line-pilots. If you had half a brain, were you going to take your problem to CC or KR (if you could avoid it)?

I thought Fred's grumpiness was part of his charm, but then again, I am well on my way to crumudgeonhood also.

Thank you Fred, for everything you did to make the pilot's lot a little better! You will be sorely missed!

Don't mistake grumpy for busy. Kind of like getting interrupted in the middle of a brief, or checklist. Now imagine eight years of constant abnormal checklists with constant interruptions (mostly about silly stuff).

Wish I was around to see the first interaction between B.S. and Capt'ainnn B.J. That should be a hoot.

Let's give Brad a chance. If he's going to be a company schmuck we'll find out soon enough. He is the one who set Tutt off at the instructor's meeting when he said that the line pilot's hold this place together. I found a whole new respect for him after that one.

You people slamming Brad, have you ever even talked with him? He's a good guy, and has been very helpful to alot of pilots. I'm sure he's not thrilled assuming this position with all the trash talk going on about him. Give him a chance, but just remember a CP can only do so much. My 2 cents.

Hoser

Hoser

I've never talked to him but he has talked at me (and 20 other folks) in recurrent a few times.

As I said earlier, expect nothing and you won't be disappointed.

First Impressions....

First impressions are hard to overcome... The first time I saw this dweeb, he was literally 2 inches away from a higher-up's tail-end with his nose. He was trailing this guy up and down the hall-saying "yes, sir, mr _____ sir," over and over....
Literally two minutes later, he was trailing another guy down a nearby hall way saying "yes sir, mr. _____, sir...." In both cases, I was shocked at the obvious, unabashed groveling I was witnessing..... I wondered if he actually did this all day long.

Now-given that was years ago, but I generally find people who do that sort of crap in public to be untrustworthy....and of low moral an ethical character. Maybe he is a prince, but I would find that surprising, after having seen such things

Also-has anyone ever heard "B.S." been referred to by anyone else here as a friend? I mean, that is a bit unusual, isn't it? Everyone here has a few people who include them on their "friend" or "buddy" list, but this guy? I have never heard him referred to by anyone as being either.
-Strange.
