We are in a much better place because of his hard work bringing ALPA here and for MEMRAT. .

He petitioned the ATN pilots for MEMRAT. Management hates MEMRAT. When they caught wind of his efforts to bring power to the pilots, the management tools brought him into the office and threatened his job...

I don't see ANY pilots, certianly the FI crowd, putting their job on the line for others.....

Also for what it's worth I, as well as the majority of this MEC, voted for Scott Stratton of FedEx, the guy is smart, has done a lot for FedEx and refused to make any backdoor deals while the other candidates were running around, and I mean literally running around the room trying to broker back door deals,

Not true. Stratton put politics over performance in my book. He also didn't have a firm grasp of the issues most pilot groups deal with. It's relatively easy to be a Chairman of an MEC when the airline is printing money, quite a different story to be an MEC Chairman when your airline has gone through bankruptcy, an 1113c, a hostile take over attempt and a merger.

Lee, who for the most part rarely left where his MEC was seated, refused several attempted deals by folks who walked up to the front of the room where he stood between ballots, each and every one of them, even when a couple of the larger MECs threatened late in the process to back Stratton, and put Stratton over the top if he didn't take their offer. Lee called several members of the DMEC together in the "great hall" at the time and explained the deal. The entire DMEC was then called into caucus in delegate committee one. LM stuck with his principles, walked in and said "get a bottle of water, take a pi$$, NO deals".

The attempted deal making was witnessed by the AE MEC, who then put on Lee Moak buttons. Funny how things work, several of the B MECs must have witnessed this as well, because even though the king makers threw their hefty weight behind Stratton when Lee stuck by his principles, Lee Moak picked up more votes in the next round then Stratton did. Principles over politics I guess.
