JD it really only sucks for new hires...here is why...

Recently there was an active attempt to get as many FO's off of FO pay by a collective effort to have the most junior FO in the 400XP bid capt...Therefore every senior FO to him would have received bypass pay (capt pay)...What haapened is the company has chosen not to "award" the bid...So if you come here I wouldn't expect that you will see PIC time for several years and you may NEVER get off the FO payscale, which is horrible...

Ask this question during your interview...

Are all captain bids awarded as they are posted? If they tell you yes all bids are awarded as posted you will know it is a lie....If they respond that up until MAY 2005 they were awarded as posted...ask them what happened to the recent 400XP bid...

BTW if you make it to year 6 or 7 here the pay is livable but not great...the 91K work rules are awesome compared to the past 91 rules...

Good luck wth your decision and please live up to it that it is your decision and you shouldn't complain if you come here informed and understand what you are getting into...In fact there is no reason to come here uninformed...

On a side note we have basically been parked and there are no planned contract talks in our future...We have what we have and can expect nothing else for the future...

um...no...it sucks for 90% of us. Koolaid tastes swell to around 10% of you.

Soooo...

So will things get better at NetJets in like 6 months, because I want to get my multi up... or is this a company I should not even consider for trying to break into jets?

Oh personal question, did you get canned? It's say your unemployed?

JD if all yourr looking for is multi yes you could come here...But be forewarned that you will be signing a 2 year training contract and they will indeed come after you if you leave early...It also means you will be an FO your entire career here...if you can afford to live under those conditions by all means come...BTW if you are counting on a new contract don't....

Ok...

I meant get my multi up at my current job... I don't want to be an F/O any longer then I have to be... Thanks for the info.

Capt. JD, a two year binding commitment comes with the position. If a pilot chooses to leave before then, they must pay for the training.

From where I sit...across the table from my husband....I hear regular examples of management trying to intimidate the pilots, especially new-hires. Even without those cases, it is not at all difficult to come to the conclusion that after almost 4 years of negotiating the atmosphere would be quite strained for all involved. Labor disputes are, by their very nature, difficult times for companies and those employed there. The FO pay IS as bad as the pilots say, the upgrade time can take several years, and it is advisable to have strike funds set aside, just in case.
