You don't get it do you. The people I fly won't set foot on a airliner if their lives depended on it. The airlines lost them as customers many years ago, with piss poor service and heck the TSA didn't help matters either.

Inother words, once you can afford a cab, why would you ever take the bus?

Agreed. That boat is done sailed. 1st class now is for those that can't afford a Jet Card and those last minute upgrades for $50.00 to anyone in coach. They seem to fill 1st now just for presence.

At least domestically, 1st class nowadays just seems to be a slightly roomier seat with a 3rd-rate snack/meal. That doesn't begin to compare at all with the experience in the fractional world.

First Class only works on the longer domestic flights when the extra room might make a difference. First Class on a 1-2 hour East Coast flight is worthless - not much incremental value vs. coach. You still have to wait in line and ENDURE TSA like everyone else.

No wonder the fractionals continue to grow - business travelers and wealthy individuals are sick of the delays, TSA probing/frisking and are turned off by the Skybus crowd...
