NetJets sign-on bonus ?

i was in the sleep room the other day and heard one of their pilots calling HR and asked to have his bonus spread out over 4 years..

that must be a nice check..?

they are talking about something completely different.. Any new hire that comes on property after 11-21-05 gets a type rating with no catch 22. There is no training contract anymore.. The hope is that people will get the type and leave someplace else so the domicile issue can be resolved before the next contract.. The bonus you heard had to do with guys that were here pre-contract and received retro-active pay in the form of a signing bonus

Not trying to pick an arguement....but, what you signed was a seat lock. It keeps you in your seat for 2 years following training to prevent you from bidding FO (or Capt if you are a Capt) from one platform to another.

You as a FO can bid Capt. NO seat lock. But, you cannot now bid a FO position in another aircraft.

It is not a training contract. You can leave anytime you want. Though I know that you don't wish to do so. I'm happy for ya'....not trying to start nutt'in.

I know what I signed. The clue was the phrase "reimbursement for training expenses". It mentioned pro rating out for two years. It was not the seat lock letter. It was sent to me before I went to class. I signed it with a bunch of other stuff and mailed it back. It may have been sent by mistake or not. I don't care. I am sorry I mentioned it.

how mature.. I have a five knuckle sandwhich waiting for you..meet me after lunch by the swingset.. Ahole.. lets see.. People get the type for X amount of money then leave.. The union can keep track of this and make a very nicely colored chart showing how much money is being pissed away. Now we all know that netjets doesn't care THAT much about money, but when rts and the board sees this waste, I can almost guarantee some changes happening..don't believe me? ANyone who worked at ACA a while back knows that the training pass rate was about 20%. The union made a pretty chart showing the wasted money and TA DA.. training pass rates went to 80%.. They realized they had rediculous standards set..

actually just one of several places I worked.. If you were smart enough to realize the point I was making, you would have not attacked me..oh well.. children on here.. Oh and I doubt you could even spell NASA without the help of your mommy..
I agree Netjets is a great place, but I believe there were 33 new hires that got the type and left.. A small fraction compared to the 400+ that were hired, but you figure the average type is $20,000? multiply that by 33 and you've got a chunck of change pissed away.. This by itself won't matter, but couple that with the fact that they don't start or end you at your domicile? It all adds up..
