So far they're letting new hires pick their domicile from the list of 5 so it shouldn't be a problem.

so far so good.. Way better then the way I was treated at the airlines.. and the money ain't so bad.. The biggest complaint would be the domicile thing.. Fortunately I live within driving distance, 5.5 hrs of a domicile.. :(

I didn't want to start a new thread over this, but can anyone tell me what the transportation situation is during training? Are we provided with rental cars? I also have a 5 day gap between training in columbus. The company said they would not pay to fly me home, but would pay for my hotel. Does anyone know if they will continue to pay for a rental car during this time? Thanks

If they do not fly you home, then they will in addition to providing hotel provide rental car. But the car is for a number of people, not just yourself. So if you are planning on traveling with the car, that may be a problem.

If your just worried about in and around while waiting, there'e no problem.

My guess is that they would pay for the rental car. Gap in training is between what types of training??? Sims and indoc??? They should fly you home.... It isn't right to be in CMH for more then 2 weeks at a time....

Well i'm getting married on march 4th, travelling to columbus on march 5th, starting indoc on march 6th. The soon to be wife is coming to columbus on my last day of indoc to start our lovely "HONEYMOON" in ohio. I start sim training on the 2000 on march 22nd. I have 5 days off, but according to work, they said i have to have 4 days off to be eligible to be flown home., but i guess they consider both travel days a work day which brings me down to having only 3 days off...I don't know, its all confusing but i'm just trying to figure out if i need to rent a separate car while my wife is up here. Thanks guys

Thanks! For The Quick Reply. How Do You Like It At Netjets So Far.

It's great here but I was grandfathered with home basing so that's a big reason I like it so much. That and the fact I have tours like the one I'm on now where I just finished day 4 of 7 and have only flown ONE leg so far. I have racked up about 3000 frequent flyer miles thou . I normally carry 2 books to read on a 7 day trip, I usually only get one read. This may be a 3 book tour ;).

On a busy tour like this are you standing by to stand by at the airport or are you chillin at the hotel pool most of the time?

I just finished a 7 day tour, most of which was spent flying around the Carribean. With 2 of 6 ron's spent in nice resorts in the Eastern Carribean. Even had some time to hit the beach! Had 3 to 5 legs every day which makes the week go fast.

All fleets spend quite a bit of time there...maybe a little less in the Ultra and 400. The other day from St. Maarten must have heard 5 QS call signs on the freq. at one time. All different fleets.

The X and the 2000 are the St. Marteen anguila-teb shuttle. One whole tour the farthest west i got was teb. It was all st. Marteen, St. Thomas, Barbados, Bermuda.

Make sure you go and buy her some lingerie for those special nights!!!

I would suggest Northern Face or Columbia.

If your wife goes with you to Ohio in March for a honeymoon and comes back home with you… son, you got yourself a keeper!

How are newhires being awarded bases and aircraft? By experience availability or whatever is open?

How are the trips out of the LAX domicile?
do you frequent certain aiports like (HNL, ANC, SFO, SEA)

Monthly schedules are they at home reserve or airport reserve? What is the longest you will have to wait for Mr. Big in the FBO before you are given a hotel?

I know you guys do not have formal jumpseat agreements. However, are there still certain airlines that let you ride anyway.

About half & half. When we break the jet it sometimes takes them hours to release us to the hotel. I broke in Sun Valley, ID the other day but by the time we reached the hotel is was too late to enjoy any snow sports. The next day they put us on standby at the hotel early then wound up airlining us out rather than wait for the jet to be fixed. Other days this trip I was at the hotel by mid-afternoon so had time to go out on the town if I wanted to.
I'm on day 6 of 7 now and have a total of 3 legs flown. Looks like I'll just airline home tomorrow since we turned our jet in for scheduled MX.

Do they actually tell you that you are released until tomorrow at XXXX time, so then you have time to go get an adult beverage?

What fleet goes where?

Like the other guys said, it varies. Lately I've been doing east coast....

White Plains/Teterborough to wherever in Florida. If I get a trip out of White Plains to Carribian it breaks down! (4 trips, broke everytime)

I haven't been able to get to the islands to save my ass!!!

HAven't been west of the rockies for weeks (for Netjets)

Thats half the fun of it! I pack my winter coat if I wanna go to Flrida, and my swimming trunks if I wanna go to Buffalo or Deluth. (Just kidding, make sure you pack for duty from Buffalo to Bagdad!)

If you have more than 12 hours, yes.
