Hopefully, right after all the furloughed guys have been offerred their jobs back we'll be hiring?

When (if?) recalls begin, I'm guessing only about half will come back. Most of the NJI 27 will not return so it won't take long to run through the list. So you've got that going for you DAS, which, is nice....

You should send in an app. I know a whole bunch of guys who'll recommend ya!!!:D

It will work out well, just like all the guys we recommended back in '08....Most got denied or never interviewed and the ones who got hired had it work out really really well for them....

I'll never in my life recommend someone apply to NJA... If a buddy asks for a rec. I'll strongly persuade them to find something else. Of course if they still want it I'd throw in the rec.

Unfortunately, I have to say told ya so.. (not you , but everyone still on property) Many of us predicted what was going to happen.. Longer days, more flying,, people complaining about being overworked at some point (fleet dependant).. It is going to take serious fatigue calls to change this. I'm not a "fatigue to prove a point or just because", but at some point you'all can't be doing 12-14 hr days, 5 legs, 6 days a week. It is going to take some pilots taking a stand.

The efficiency you produce at eventually has a direct affect on our return to employmnet.

I'm guesiing many NJI furloughees found cushy GIV-V jobs that those without the type can only dream of getting? Where have you heard they are going to?

I've heard of a buddy of mine getting a nice X job out West. Flying for an aircraft manufacturer, being home more and probably making more money. They e-mailed me about sending in another resume/flight time update but I was unable to at the time.

Also, a few guys have been interviewed by JB and Delta. I highly doubt or know they will not be coming back. I know I'll be deferring until atleast the last moment.
 
Now here you guys go and ruin a perfect "bash the other guy" thread opportunity. I was over reading in the kiddie area (Regional Forum) and was wondering what kind of beating I would take in the Fractional area by asking a stupid question. Low and behold, a bunch of professional answers. You guys are no fun.;)

Several have hit the jackpot.

Fortune 100 compaines.. Conoco-Phillps, Franklin Templeton, SAS, just to name a few.

Very good friend of mine landed one of them. The Gulfstream society is much like Herpes, once you have the type, you fly with the same crowd your whole career.

Three that I know of have found full time Gulfstream jobs since the furlough and several others have found some contract work. Believe it or not, there are some jobs out there. But it takes a lot of networking and prior corporate experience is an advantage. Before the furlough, every guy on the block that I spoke with or heard about said they wouldn't come back because it would be into whatever aircraft their VSL number would then hold and it would be at CBA pay scale which would be a pay cut.

Most of the NJI guys that were furloughed already had type ratings in Gulfstream, Falcon, or Challenger size aircraft when they were hired and are working their connections in the corporate world to find a job.

Is this what happened to you? You're an idiot and a loser for trying to stir something like this up.
 
There are some instances of whole tours of working 12+ hours and flying like crazy and not fatiguing like they should, but overall we really aren't getting crushed. There should definitely be more fatigue calls when people are fatigued for whatever reason, but overall we aren't crazy busy like some squeaky wheels keep trying to tell everyone. I fly the Excel. Some days are hard. Some days I do nothing. Overall I am flying about the average amount for a fractional pilot- I'll do about 450 hours this year. At this rate and the rate they are telling us of 1 to 2 percent growth year over year in the plans, we won't be hiring or recalling any time soon. I honestly don't see any recalls unless they are forced by using sell offs more than 11 days per quarter (none last quarter and only 5 or 6 the first quarter). Slow growth without being overall really busy won't bring hiring for many, many years.

Don't worry all the retirees that are still at NJA seem to call fatigue after the first or second 12 hour day. They already started the new movement. While at FBOs I get to listen to all their "victories" over the company by them calling in fatigue because they are worked to hard. I get to listen to how scr@wed they get by scheduling. I guess actually working instead of retiring can be.....well....work.

I'm sure once the career minded furloghees come back then the retirees can enjoy the La-z-boys in the crew lounges again. And I'm sure they will still call in fatigue if they can't get their afternoon nap in.
 
If it weren't for the retirees, there would be room for the furloughees to be at work right now. Thanks for playing guys, but you've had your fun and now its our turn.

Sorry if it came off as attitude. I'm actually the group of guys whom take up the slack, always have a well stocked plane, and have the jepps done. I'm the guy that your happy to fly with.

I'm just tired of hearing the retirees complain about how hard their job is, how tired they are and how their free crew food didn't come with pepper and salt.

I'm just saying that this job can be very demanding with what we do, where we go and the hours you work. It may not be the best retirement job to do.

I subscribe to the idea that if you complain about your job or can't perform while doing it, then maybe it's not the job for you.

There are almost 500 guys on the street here that would love to have there job back.
