Its a good thing then you got all that Panel time when Astar goes away or just merges with another company. Lets see you made 100k and worked 14 days a month.... but now you're behind the power curve because you couldn't figure out career advancement.

I find it hard to believe that all astar panel guys at 6 years were just waiting for that fo job around the corner. No sir I believe you choose QOL and now that choice of staying on the panel has bitten you or will bite you in the arse.

You can believe anything you want dude. But when it doesn't fit in your head, you can't comprehend it. I have posted once on this site, and I already have had enough from the "experts". Don't bother posting, cause I justed hit the delete button. Have a good life.

Dude, relax. You come onto a message board looking for help. Dont you know that these boards are 99% Bull Sh!t, and 1% truth. This is a place for entertainment. I feel for you though. Getting stuck in a job that pays good, and you probably like the job. Now the tough part of trying to get out of the "trap". Lots of pilots that fly "bigger equipment" dont want to take the step back to fly a Cessna. It is the best move most of us have ever made. As far as needing to be current, send in an application and see what happens. If they want currency, then look for a part time job while keep the good paycheck coming in.

Good luck to you.

Hi!

Lately, the min time to upgrade at AStar is 7 years. I could've applied there a while ago, but I didn't want to sit sideways that long. I also thought ABX would've been hiring by now, but they are doing everything they can not to hire any more pilots, so that didn't work out, either.

I bet 6 years ago the upgrade times looked a lot shorter than they look now. Just goes to show that sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

What the hell's your problem friend? The guy asked a simple question looking for career information and you give him absolutely WORTHLESS answers. I understand this thing is somewhat for entertainment BUT when someone asks a serious qustion why not at least give him an answer that can be used.

What is your purpose as a human anyhow. Your about as worthless as they get as far as useful information goes.

I am currently a Second Officer (FLight Engineer) on B727 at Astar Air Cargo. I have not touched flight controls in 6 years. I do not see current flight time as a "pilot" on the min requirements, but does anyone know if that is going to exclude me from getting an interview / hired? I need to know so I can go to plan B, C, or whatever plan I am going to go with.

Hang in there bud. There will be someone that's not a worthless piece of S..T that will give you a good answer and who actually is employed by the company in question.

I see you are new to forum. Diesel likes to cause havoc around here. He's compensating for something if you know what I mean.

So your avatar is what supposed to be cute, kitchy and make me feel like you are adorable? Haaahaaa oh i get it i'm compensating for the size of my junk...oohh man jeeze i'm rolling on the floor laughing at your humor. Did you just read Beetle baley or something. harhhhahaaaa sigh

The guy could have answered his own question about currency because its been discussed ad nausium, then cross referenced it with the fact that there are thousands of furloughed pilots on the street who have touched an airplane in 6 years.... so i might be reaching but even if they did allow it he's got a long shot.

I allready answered him but he allready knew the answer when he posted.

You are a brilliant one I'll give you that. Actually my avatar is just for you. I know you would like it so I put it there for your amusement.

P.S. - You are in fact a complete waste of my time and others. You have caused this thread to turn into a battle instead of informing the guy of the info. he was looking for.

You are one of the most w.r.t.l.s. folks I've had contact here.

Have a nice night.
