100K isnt even good money.. What a bunch of fuc*ing whores!! 100K was the alpha and the omega 10 years ago when everyone talked about "six figures".. 200k is now the 100k of yesteryear!! No wonder the Operational Headquarters is in CMH and not with corporate headquarters in NJ!! The people in Jersey would never work for those chump wages!! But give that chump change to some hillbilly in CMH who thinks the Olive Garden is virtuous Italian cuisine and that Bobs Big Boy is fine eatin he's happy as a pig in slop...

Yet another condescending post.... Its good to know you hold all us hillbillies in CMH in such high regard.

Despite your protests otherwise, $100,000 is still good money, and would rank you in the top 20% of all families in the US, according to the US Census Bureau:

2003 Mean US family income by quintile and top 5%

Lowest Fifth...............
$13,871
Second Fifth..............$32,896
Middle Fifth................$53,016
Fourth Fifth................$79,713
Highest Fifth.............$163,322
Top 5%......................$281,467

Hogprint - Agreed. My original post on this topic implied that both parties were probably at fault for this taking as long as it has.

I dont follow your reasoning that the company drug their heels at this time because it put more money in their pocket. Think back to the state of the industry after 9/11 - the company could have taken an extremely hard line and said they needed a concessionary contract (like most aviation companies).... but they didnt. Given the conditions at the time they could have gotten another contract that didnt increase their costs.

If you'll think about it, the union waiting till there were better economic conditions would be the entirely rational thing to do...its smart negotiating....the only drawback is that it undermines your claim of 1300 days of waiting on management.

I'm thinking back pre-9/11...everthing is running smoothly, company says it wants to get it done, MEC says we're getting it done, even owners would come up to the cockpit and ask how things were going....

I'm thinking post-9/11...like one month after...when the TA was supposed to be released and union and company hand in hand push it back three months....

I'm thinking back three months after that, when both parties push it back six months....

I'm think back six months after that...

Get the picture?

The company could have done a lot of things. Concessionary Contract could have been one of them, but most of those types of contracts have hit in the last couple of years for the legacy carriers.

You have to understand that everyday they don't have to pay standard wages to any employee be it mechanic, scheduler, pilot, floor sweeper is money in the bank.

How exactly could the company have gotten another contract that didn't increase their costs?

[/QUOTE]NOBODY CARES. It's an aviation board for pilots by pilots.
Sure you don't really mean just for...Union pilots who think like me?

Really...guess that's what they really ment by:
"Aviation Communications, has been serving the aviation community"

Guess they better tank the "Flight Attendants" and "Aviation Mechanics" forums as well as boot NJW, sikntired and NJAOwner.

What's the title of the thread? Oh yea that's right....

With all due respect....this is not the exclusive domain of the Union only POV, that's at the ASAP site.

Moderator please feel free to kill this post....It is obvious that it has been taken over by some that have little or no personal interest in aviation....

All Done!!

I second that motion... time for this BS thread to die.

Why would anyone reply to FamilyDouche ? Don't give that "hillbilly" any attention. Just another idiot/manager from Columbus. I am starting to laugh at everyone actually arguing with this dolt. Don't fall into the trap of bargaining on a public board. He will be in the unemployment line when the strike begins :).
