uhhh the revised offer from the company after restoring some of the benefits is $73,900, not 100K.

Quit spewing Bridgeway Bob's BS.

Family Guy...

1) Answer my question regarding the budget. How are you going to do it?

2) Scorched earth policy? Huh? What is the union doing to "scorch the earth"? This thing could be over in 3 days if "Bloody Bill Boisture" wanted it to be......That's his nickname in industry...you know that? How do you think he got that nickname? Look at his history.....Do you even KNOW his history? Where he came from? What his reputation is? How he handled his employees? Do you think if your group at NJA were a significant portion of "his" cost he wouldn't be coming after YOU? PULEASE!

3) The materials passed out to you are to COUNTER (HELLO!) the propaganda/spin/lies told to YOU by Bridgeway Bob and BB.....HELLO!!!!

Read the book Family Guy....

To those of you who think that we used inappropriate terms in regards to the owners, I agree....Those people pay the bills. Net Jets does NOT pay the bills....the OWNERS do. They should be treated with the utmost respect.

However, that being said, I will tell you that the owners do NOT always treat the crews with mutual respect. We are no more respected by SOME of them than their gardeners/maids/pool boys or drivers.....The completely uncivil manner in which SOME of them treat us is just plain rude, nasty and condescending.....I recently flew one family who had been kicked out of one FBO on one airport and told never to return due to their haughty/disrespectful/rude/mean/condescending treatment of the FBO employees. The FBO that was lucky enough to get them on a DIFFERENT airport cringes whenever they show up.....

Money buys wealth....it doesn't buy class....And if you don't think there is some frustration by the crews because of how were are sometimes treated, you are sorely mistaken and nai've. I'm not condoning the names that they use, I only understand their frustration. One super star music hall-of-famer will not even acknowledge a "hello".....He is just plain rude. There is no excuse for that kind of behavior.

I went looking for the book- it is out of print. I will find it though and read it-

You know, you guys are close. Your MEC has done a good job. It looks on the surface you are 30 million apart. This seems attainable. Split the difference and be done.

It is one thing to go after CEO, but to go after low paid employees on the board is not ok- he is doing his job.

While some of the px are rude to the pilots (aren't there some in every large group?) my husbands interactions are, for the most part, very pleasant. He sites the greater px involvement as one of the reasons that he enjoys fractional flying.

I believe that Sikntired referred to the px as Daddy Warbucks, etc. strictly as a personal/inside joke. The pilots and their families KNOW that the money is there to pay professionals accordingly. She meant no disrespect to the owners, I'm sure. I know her and her anger is directed at those responsible for dragging out this dispute.

pretty telling....

I got news for you....sorry, in their world, you are the help!

Remember you fly their airplanes.

This is a service industry. We aren't their friends, contemporaries, or family. I think this perspective may be where some of the angst over salary expectations is coming from.

You have no idea where the prespective comes from because YOU ARE NOT A PILOT on the LINE.

I'd reply to the 100k shot later. I've got things to do and people to meet tonight.

Your right gern...my mistake

He meant a 'kick ass agreement' for the company, not the pilots. It seems a valid point. The company held all the cards at that time.

I miss read it the first time around.

I will still stand by my post though. The company did not try to put the dagger in because every day they drag their feet it fills their coffers.

FamGuy has suggested that it was only the Union that drug this out this long, but I think there is more than enough blame between the company and the former MEC.

Sorry Abenaki, from your tone I thought it was a rhetorical question....but if you want a budget, here's my take on it. Keep in mind that it may not be as fancy as you'd like, but I did this from my perspective, with NEEDS not WANTS in mind....

Mortgages (2 @ $100k) .............
$1,600
Car payments (2 @ $300) .............$600
Food ...........................................$600
Utilities ........................................$300
Clothes ........................................$200
Property taxes (incl. in mortgage) ......$0
Insurance .....................................$125
Medical expenses .........................$333
Entertainment (free on flightinfo) .........$0
Braces (none, good genes) ................$0
Tuitions (your $18k figure) ............$1,500
Books ...........................................$100
Travel ............................................$200
Vacation ........................................$200
Gas ...............................................$100
Maintenance ...................................$100

I used the scorched earth term to refer to what appears to be your unions intent to get what it wants, regardless of the impact on the company, fellow employees, and fellow aviators. Is it more colorful than necessary? probably, but it should serve to make people pause and think about their actions.

As for Mr. Boisture's nickname, no, I wasnt aware of that. But based on what I've seen during the time he's been here, the managers have more to fear than the employees. I've seen a lot of turnover in the managers ranks, and most of it has been appropriate. How many employees has Mr. Boisture let go?

And as nicknames go, I would suggest that they dont mean a lot. If you're old enough to remember, Jack Welch was refered to as "Neutron Jack" about 30 years ago because of his tendancy to cut all of the dead weight when he took over a company. There was a lot of pain at first, but you cant argue with the success that came as a result.

I've got to respectfully disagree with you on this one. Management didnt start posting articles on the 6S's or the negotiations until after the union started handing out their materials at work.

And 'Bridgeway Bob' is just doing his job. He doesn't deserve to be abused here because you dont like what he's been asked to post.

I agree as well. I will also go one step further. They should be treated with the utmost respect at ALL times, to include these boards. These are PUBLIC boards and you may think its an inside joke, but its not. Also, havent you heard the saying that you act as you think?

You are correct that some of the Owners are not friendly, but as was noted by someone else, they have purchased a service. They dont have to be nice. You and I know that you are highly trained and have a valuable skill, but in their minds you are still there to provide a service, not unlike their "gardeners/maids/pool boys or drivers".

Its been my experience that this is a very small percentage of our owners, and I'm sure everyone else will agree with me on that.

Why don't you try living in the Northeast. Your little table is a joke. A normal commute for a NJA pilot costs more in gas for one trip to work. Yeah that's realistic.

Who cares what you say about what we should make. You're just a company troll who's job is to lower expectations. Well try this on for size.

NOBODY CARES. It's an aviation board for pilots by pilots.

In life there are some people just happy scraping by day to day. I'm not one of those people.
