Actually, I saw it posted either on this board or airlinepilotcentral, I think from someone who talked to Derinda.

Be careful holding out for a more desirable base. It is my undestanding folks on payroll will be able to bid for it before it is offered to newhires - someone correct me if I am wrong.

That is my understanding also, Unfortunately I am not in a position to to move and the commute to any other domicile from TUL would be a killer. At least I have a good job and can wait it out.

The recent LOA on domiciles does, indeed, require the company to offer any domicile openings to pilots already on the seniority list, in accordance with that right provided by the CBA. Additionally, pilots will now be able to swap domiciles if 2 pilots of the same position and fleet want to trade domiciles. Given DAL's popularity it could be a long wait. I'm glad to hear you have a good job, BL. My husband is advising all of those who can to take another domicile and bid for DAL from within the ranks.
Good luck to all,
NJW

One never knows what the future holds. I just wanted you to understand the realities involved. Timing makes a difference, too. There are time requirements attached to the domicile changes and not everyone is able to pack up and move to another city on short notice. You could get lucky. I wouldn't rule it out, but I'd put it in the category of plan for the worst and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Speaking of surprised....so far, only 2 pilots have posted in the domicile swap thread on the 1108 message board. I thought there'd be a lot more. Just goes to show...one never knows.
