Nubie, if you don't or aren't going to pursue a career in aviation then why? This was your first question. You have low time hours but that is ok. Just really know if you want to do this. Flying recreational planes is easy. A teenager can take off, and land in a recreational plane.

If your are doing something you don't want to do, then don't do it!

If you want do something that's for you and you can handle it,THEN D0 IT!

You have some time, logging in, I say go for it!

Personally, if you want to fly, and you haven't done it in awhile , then you need to go out and do it.

Pursue your dreams, and do it in the right way.

(i am hearing the voice of my deaceased fiancee) Bruce, would encourage you to do what is right)

He was a pilot, for 40 years, Since he was very encouraging, very positive with people,

All my best to you sir! Good Luck!

Thank you for your post. There are a few reasons why I am currently not flying.

1. I am having my school paid for my my current employer. I will have my bachelors degree finished in about two years (I already have my Associates degree)... My free schooling is adding up to about $7,800 a year that I am not getting into debt for.

2. I have a wife and 9 month old son which means I cannot take a large pay cut to pursue my dream. I have a house (I consider it an investment) and my wife is not working to raise our son. This means I would have to make at least what I do now (this jet job would pay that required amount)... I currently choose not to instruct part time now because I am in school and my plate is too full already.

3. I cannot afford to fly for fun. There is simply no money in the budget as much as I would love to!

This is a rare opportunity that could work out and give me the chance to "jump a rung" but it also could backfire and set me back by several years too. I guess that's a pretty good definition of risk if you ask me! nubi78
