My flight case is in its final stages of life. I think I got my money's worth out of this one. Paid $60 for it 7 years ago. After many years of service and abuse, it has served me well. Now it is being retired to service as dust collector in the garage.
Now I'm looking for a good case to replace it. I want something durable, but leather is not a must. I searched the usual websites for a case, but the only one I liked was in Europe. It's called the Delta pilot case. Has smaller side pockets on either end and a larger exterior pocket on the front side. Also has a sunglasses case on the inside flap. Anyone seen anything like this on this continent? Any recommendations? It's got to be the standard size so it'll fit in the ERJ. Around 18x13x8.

Actually, you can order those Delta flight bags online. The guy that makes them is in Mumbai, India.... but his quality is excellent and the price is right. I have the exact bag you describe and it cost $70. I had somebody pick it up for me so I'm not sure what the shipping costs would be. Also, have a leather jacket from him as well as love it. You can find it here:

Check with the Stopover Store. They have a number of locations and also have a website.

They have a number of different types- Cordora, Plastic, Leather, etc. with many different variations on each type. If you order via the web or over the telephone make sure that you get the measurements of the bags so you can "physicalize" their exact size, that way you will know exactly what you are getting. I took measurements of my old bag and compared it to the new ones to see just what the net change in available room would be.

Have Fun!

Good Luck To Us All!

The cordura flight kit from PurdyNeatStuff, or Luggage works is a great bag, too. It holds a pile of stuff, has a lot of pockets and velcro inserts, and it fits the CRJ pocket. You can get it at a discount as an airline employee.

Here it is
