ATC: Katana xxxxx traffic is a Fokker 9:00 whatever altitude.

ME: Looking for the Fokker.

ME: Approach I have the Fokker in sight!

I love that!!

And some folks think I ain't right!!! :D :D :D

I was up about two weeks ago on a slow day and the controller said:
"Piper 699, traffic 2 o'clock, 5 miles, a flying warehouse with a T tail." (He was referring to a C-17 Globemaster)

Flying warehouse

Those are some big ships. I have never been in the same airspace with one - at least that I am aware of.

Now, I won't say WHO said it, but this really did happen.
In Denver. (where the controllers are always cool.)
Right about the time everyone was quoting from "Meet the Parents."

Denver: "Lakes Air, you're following an F100, two mile final, for runway 36R"

Lakes: "Uh, yep, got the Fokker in sight. Aaaand I believe that's Martha flying it today. HMM, whatever, we're following that Martha flying Fokker."

Pause

Denver: "Are you a pothead, Fokker? HMM,whatever, Lakes Air cleared for the visual runway 36R behind Martha and her Fokker."

I Swear.

thanks for the laugh, that is hysterical!! martha flying fokker....
denver guys are great. but, i really love the guy in houston that always says "jetlincoln xxx" instead of jetlink for continental express.

Who know "Mr. Happy" on Tampa APP. He's one cool controller.

"Good day to ya Pedymont"

Or mechanical man on MIA APP.

Anyone ever talk to the female with the 1-900 voice on Denver center. I wonder if I get charged for flying through that sector...

Cheers,
Skyking

How about Denver center's "have a daannnnnddy day!"
I asked for direct telluride once, and he asked me a trivia question about green acres (tv show)! I didn't know the answer but he cleared me direct anyway, and then told me the answer as I came back out.
Of course the radios aren't exactly busy over central CO...
