Dandy Day

On a flight from DEN to FMN about 3 years ago, got the hand off to 24.35 and heard "Dandy Day" telling someone he was going home in 30 min and going to have himself a beer.

My Cpt check on "Dont leave yet, Lakes is checkin on at 240"

Dandy Day "Well scence your here Lakes I guess I'll drink at the TRACON"

ABQ Center : Cactus 123 Climb and maintain 290

ABQ: Cactus 123 Climb and maintain 290

ABQ: Cactus 123 how do you hear

ABQ: Cactus 123

ABQ: CACTUS 123

ABQ: C A C T U S 1.. 2.. 3..

Cactus 123: Go ahead

ABQ: Cacus 123 climb and maintain 290, that was the SEVENTH time Ive called you

Cactus 123: 290 and that was the first time we heard you

Lakes xxx: In youre defense Cactus, Center only called you SIX times

??

Checking in with NYC approach one afternoon many years ago. I was about 10 south of the airport, over the ocean.

Me: Kennedy tower, Lifeguard helicopter XXX, 10 miles south, 500', midfield transition northbound for White Plains, Foxtrot.

Kennedy tower: Lifeguard helo XXX, Kennedy tower, roger.....uhhhh.....500' AGL or MSL?

I heard this on center freq a few years ago:

MEM CTR: Southwest 571, contact Ft Worth Center on 133.5-- have a good one.

SW571: Roger 133.5-- got a good one, need a big one.

I thought it was hilarious. The old man I was flying co-pilot for failed to see the humor...

Told to me by a buddy in a recent ground school....

"United xxx looking for a shortcut" (in a young female voice)

An anonymous aircraft responds-

"Honey, you've been taking shortcuts your whole life."

This is great

it has been fun to see aviators having fun with this forum

... TK in IND TWR/APP rocks (sounds like he smokes 2 packs a day, he does, and can move metal)...

ATC: Airline 123, can you expedite the descent?

Airline 123: Roger, we'll come down like a Bonanza fulla docs.

LGA any time there's a long line and everyone is stepping over everyone. Once there's a break it goes like this:

OK, AAxxx is one, UALxxx is two, Cal xxx is three, and so on for about 50 or 60 folks...
:p :p

I remember hearing this as a FlightSafety Academy dweeb:

US611: "Jax Center, U-S-Air Six-Eleven with you at three-one-oh."

Unknown: "U-S-Air calling, you're on Pahokee unicom."

US611: "So many numbers, so little time." :D
