Did you read the article? It actually says good things about Aitran and predicts profitability and future growth.

Yes I did read it; but it's interesting that you have to get to the end of the article titled "5 Deathbed Stocks" to get to the obvious part that we are expected to be profitable all four quarters.

Dude come on....Read the whole thing, don't judge a book errrr I mean article by it's attention grabbing title. It basically says many of the ratios devised by fellow "motley fool" bloggers shows aai not to be so hot - but if you look closer things maybe pretty good over there.

ONE MORE REASON OUR RJ PAY NEEDS TO STOP!!!!

The best thing we as pilots could do right now to help get the company through this challenging period is take a small pay cut and give the company more flexibility to outsource 100 seat and less flying.

Thumb?

Motley Fool is as its title suggests. They consitently screw up DAL stock too, reporting liquidity numbers that are are off by billions. It is, at best, a blog.

Airtran wasn't just profitable in the first quarter, they had their best first quarter ever. That was on top of their best 4th quarter operating profit ever ($55 million) in Q4 2008 (net profit suffered from the one-time charge to unwind the upside down 2009 fuel hedges). And next Wednesday, Airtran will be reporting its best quarter ever unless the Wall Street estimates are wrong (and Wall Street underestimated Airtran's Q1 2009 profit by about $20 million).

So after 3 record quarterly operating profits (and 2 record quarterly net profits), it is time for management doom and gloom speeches and negotiating table concession requests to end. Airtran is doing very well, and the Airtran pilots deserve to share in that success.
