I second the inputs from Empenage on QFE, Meters, etc. Do a good review of the SID ahead of time, with the QFE/Meters settings and low transition altitude. Some of the SIDs (out of UUEE as I recall) can get a little dicey if you aren't ahead of the jet despite the relatively benign appearance of the SID. (i.e. if you get a relatively low FL level-off from ATC and wait until passing transition alt, to set QNE, you'll most likely bust your altitude. There are a lot of course distractions/turns that occur while you would normally be setting the altimeter)

Bumz--Can I trade you a China trip for a week in Moscow? ;)

Still hoping to get there. TC

P.S.--How's the job going?

Take a city tour, stop at the Hard Rock and the Harley Dealer. There is a huge mall across Red Square from the Kremlin that you should wander through too.

You will have a blast!

Travel thousands of miles and the best you can recommend is the Hard Rock, a Harley Dealer, and a mall?? Only an American......... :)

PS. Don't forget to check out the McDonalds!

Did'nt hit the McDonalds...

I did get all the t-shirts from the above for friends and family though. Except for my brother...the dam fur hats were 400.00 bucks!

You got taken. We only paid $20.00 for one, but that was 2 yrs ago.

Naw, I passed on the fur hat. It was sweet though. I did get a case of Vodka. Same brand (Standard) but all the bottles were different sizes.

I still cant get over how many prostitutes are in the hotel bars at night in Moscow.

fur hats from the flies in Red Square -- $10 (real bear fur with red stars on them...)

"Russian Standard" vodka. -- certainly a fine choice!!

and yes, the number of hookers at the Kempinski each night is downright unbelieveable!

Next time hit Night Flight on Tverskaya http://www.nightflight.ru/

Gotta love Moscow (just not in January)

Stay at the Hotel Metropol - it's next door to the Bolshoi Ballet and a short walk to Red Square. Balance out the culture with a visit to the Swedish Bar - Night Flight, 17 Tverskaya Street and the British ex-pat bar Boarhouse. Be prepared to answer the question, "Are you doing anything tonight....?"
