Hired paid than unemployed

No they may not be the highest paid in the industry, but even with the pay cut, they make alot more than me and all of the long term unemployed pilots. Beside how can this be viewed as dismal, if it saves the airline and everyone's jobs. Correct me if I am wrong didn't AirTran pilots agree to a pay cut and a reduced guarantee in order to help the airline throught the post 9-11 days. It is what has to be done when you can not pay the bills.

I don't believe for a second that the pay cuts are going to make a significant difference in the company's fate. They are only to try to impress the creditors (Which is important in bankruptcy hearings). If the company can't make it with labor costs below what thier competitors have, then what difference will a few percentage points make? Some people say that to continue to do the same thing and expect different results is the definition of madness. I believe that we will pay the price for decisions made years ago. Acutally, in our case, the senior guys voted to accept a temporary pay cut for 60 days in exchange for no junior guys getting furloughed. The Company also got to defer some retirement payments for a period of 6 months.

Fortunately, it only lasted for 60 days, and the company made the deferred bennies payment ahead of schedule, so everything is OK here.

Like the rest of my brethren here at FL, we hope to see everyone back to work asap.

How about Spirit

Rumored another 100 airplane drivers on the street. Airlines are only trying to stay in business. Welcome to the world of the professional pilots, 7 flying jobs in 25 years, I only left two jobs because I wanted to.
