I don't know if that's what he was saying but it is correct. SAPA was NOT selected by or voted on by the skywest pilot group as a whole. The last election had a participation rate of 9%. That is not representative of anybody.

I think we've all determined SAPA is representative of management!

See, if I treat ALPA like a deity and say anything bad about it, you treat it as blasphemy. But really, isn't a union exactly like an organized religion? Church tells you you're going to hell. Union says management will sell you up the river for a buck. Church says they can save you if you will worship with them. Union says they can help you if you vote them in. Church says it needs your money to give to God and help convert hethens. Union says they need your money in order to represent you and to convert non-unionized pilot groups. Church excommunicates you for adultery with another human. Union labels you a scab and blacklists you for flying someone else's work. Church misuses funds in order for the priest to be able to live the high life while supporters live in poverty. Unions presidents misuse funds in order to live the high life while the people they represent live in poverty. Church asks that you not question God for that will only anger him and besides the proof he exists is all around you. Union supporters get angered when you question what they say and state that every luxury you currently enjoy is because of the union already. I could compare the two ad nauseaum, but I think that will suffice.

Oh the IRONY! Flip this around XPOO! Perhaps living in a religious state has clouded your vision! Most Utahwans gladly accept the benevolent leadership they pay tithes to, I don't subscribe! I'll acquire my own legal representation, thank you. Why is SkyWest so afraid of us joining a union? If we are such a happy family with our success based on our close relationship, what could possibly change? Who do they think I work for? ALPA? The communist party? NO... I work for SkyWest. Why would I shoot myself in the foot? I just deserve an honest, transparent contract.

There are only 4 members of the review board. 2 pilot and 2 managements types. In general, tie goes to the company. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Airline Pilots Assocision
Your not even a line pilot, so you should mind your own business XPOO. How can you Skywest guys/gals let him get away with posting his anti-union crap?

Pretty hard to do much more than what I did (see below) with an anonymous message board. The rest of the department is going to end up taking the brunt of it when the only seat left on a flight going somewhere is the jumpseat.

Do us all a favor and stop posting this stuff. You're embarrassing your own department as well as dispatchers from other airlines. Piss off enough people on here (or just one) and someone is going to get denied a jumpseat because of your anti-pilot posts. Enough already.

The only reason this guy isn't on my ignore list is in the chance that ALPA wins , I can listen to him cry. If the drive fails I'll ignore him anyways.

Its OK C.P. He doesnt dispatch...He only coordinates, so I guess he has the last laugh with all those swaps....

At last, the reason we have so many unnecessary swaps that cause so many unecessary delays! Guess he's too busy worrying about ALPA to do his job correctly...

Actually, a judge decided, not a court. His peers already found him guilty.

Peers, or SAPA representatives? Sounds to me like those terms aren't interchangeable.

Why is it that SkyWest dispatchers need to comment on things they have no vested interest in or understanding of??? How about worrying about yourselves...oh yeah and give me another 500lbs of gas.....

There's a few great dispatchers and coordinators in SGU, but most of them are clueless. Never actually been nor understand the inner workings of the major hubs. Always wrong on altitude, fuel, and still don't understand that swapping to save 5mn puts you 15mn behind. Most of them don't even understand the regs (no, you don't HAVE TO go to your filed alternate if it's not the best choice at a given time!).
My favorite game is how many times I would have declared an emergency today if I would have gone with "release fuel"....what a joke. And I won't even start with wrong SID and STARS when an airport switch runways.
I miss the days of part 135 SkyWest...

I love it how everybody has an opinion on pilots and FA, but even most Airline employees haven't the slightest idea about our job. Just ask anyone, and they don't even understand that crewmembers are not getting paid when they're outside the plane.

I don't think the pilots would chime in on rampers or gate agents daily work rules if they were pursuing union representation. So XPOO, let's tone it down a bit. You're just showing that typical SGU arrogance, "I'm more Holly than you" attitude that started the drive to begin with.

Don't throw the entire department under the bus because one person is making an ass of themselves on here. I am sure you've had your share of conversations and experiences that have left you with a less than favorable opinion. It appears though with your longing for the old 135 days that your opinion may have been formed a long time ago.

Well I'm sorry. I have nothing against the dept per se, it's just the quality of it has been going downhill because of our growth. It's also due to a high turn over (and "clueless" is the word used by one of their senior guys).
We could say the same about many in the pilot group as well due to lack of experience.
As far as missing the 135 days, what I meant by that is if half the stuff on my release is incorrect, why bother with one?
But I don't want to start a pilot vs dispatch pointless discussion. We all know there's lack of experience everywhere because we can't hire neither group fast enough.
I guess I should have stayed on point about different dept chiming in regarding crewmembers. The union drive is not just about pay (as I'm sure SGU is letting everybody think it is...those greedy pilots!) it's mainly about QOL, about changing policies at will, PBS, vacation, the bucket system, etc....but I'm sure XPOO know all about it too.

No worries dude. Just wanted to make sure that the entire group wasn't being painted with the same brush because of one person. But I guess as they say, it only takes one turd in the punch bowl to ruin it for everyone else.

Is the "turd" as much of a pain to work with as he sounds like he is on these boards?
