Hello, this the Allegheny MEC code a phone for November 10, 2003.
At the invitation of Allegheny President Keith Houk, MEC Chairman Rick O’Leary and Vice Chairman Pat Flannery met with the leadership of our Teamster Mechanics, and AFA Flight Attendants, to hear a briefing on Allegheny’s fleet plan for 2004. Houk began by stating that the airline was expected to have 40 aircraft in January, which was two more than originally planned due to the affect that Midway’s departure had on our schedule. The next base reductions are scheduled for February and March, when we are projected to loose one aircraft each month. For the remainder of the year, Houk said that we could expect a staggered reduction in aircraft, ending with a projected 18 aircraft budgeted for the end of December 2004. As to the rumor that Piedmont’s fleet size would stay the same for 2004, Houk said that it was indeed true, and explained that Piedmont’s stability was due to the young age of the airlines’ Dash 200 and 300 series aircraft.
