and besides after 8/15 or when the shares are purchased there is no more BoD. private companies do not have them.

Looks like a group led by NWA and Texas Pacific Group (private equity) has submitted a $16 per share offer and AirTran has stated they would not raise their original offer of $15. The AirTran deal made more strategic sense - we'll see what happens.

So, looks like AirTran might need to find new homes for the incoming 737-700s other than MKE......... That should be interesting.
