Guys,
When does your company expect to announce what new aircraft they are going to purchase and who will operate the RJ's. Thanks

It looks as if it may be a mixed interview class but word around ops is that the next few classes will be skyway only. Not sure but thats the word.

classes

I am in the pool and I am not skyway, just wondering what the word is around the company.. if there is going to be classes this year

what i have heard...and this is just from a checkairman over there is that the next few classes will most likely be syx and from there out maybe mixed classes. Again this is just speculation. They have been very happy with us syxers. I just submitted my packet today. The wait begins. Good luck everyone!

Good luck with the app, CV580FR8Dawg...

And good luck to all the SYX guys with the RJ farming out stuff. This industry blows.

Hey Alcatraz...thanks for the support!

Talked to HR yesterday, web site open applicants now till the 15th. They are going to be staffing a class for either late october or early november with the possibility of another class starting in november. ( guessing class of 8)

Dude, put your stuff in at AirTran . . . more pay, much faster upgrade, and better retirement . . . .;)

Why?

Why would anyone want to go to Air Tran? They aren't based in WI. If you get the chance to live and work in the best state in the country you take it!

Who wants to live where they work? ;)

Wisconsin is great . . . about 5 months out of the year. Work at AirTran, bid MKE layovers, you'll have more money to spend on New Glarus beer, cheese, and snowmobiles, or ice-houses, or snowshoes, or Packers tickets, or chicks that wear blue eyeshadow and end every sentence like it's a question?

hey ty, I do not know why you believe pay is so much better at airtran, looking at airline pilot central, fo pay is almost the same, yes airtran captains make a little more, but if you calculate the cost of living in ATL vs MKE you may almost come out the same. Midwest is a much smaller airline, flying primarily 88 seat aircraft, thats not bad looking at their payscale.jetblue 190 pilots with 100 seats make much less.but I'm happy for you that you like airtran, good for you....

Ty is right on the money!
Wisconsins' a fun place to visit. Having grown up there and lived everywhere else, I can honestly say there is more to life.....much more!!! If you like tattooed chicks with cage-free kids...fine, but Midwest is not the place to expand ones carrier. Air Tran is the fastest upgrade in the majar airline industry. Go there and buy a summer house on Lake Kegonsa.

FO pay at AirTran is $3.00/ hr more the first year, and the second year pay at both carriers is the same, but some of the most recent 737 CA awards went to pilots hired in March 2004, which means they were less than 2.5 years to upgrade, versus 8 at MH

What are you smoking? The difference between being a 3rd or 4th yr CA at AirTran versus a 3rd or 4th yr FO at Midex (which is what counts) is basically doubling the pay. It would take you until 10th yr Midex CA pay to make what a 5th year AirTran CA makes

The payscales at AirTran and Midex are for the same airplane, dude . . . B717-200.

Also, Midex and AirTran used to be the same size, but AirTran has been growing over 20% year-over-year for the past 5 years, which iswhy the upgrade is so fast, compared to Midex, which has been treading water.

Im keeping my options open... not ruling anything out at this point. It would be nice to have to decide on more than just one company.

relax ty, did your boyfriend dump you?

I guess when you don't have anything else to say . . . call the other guy a homosexual . . . . whatever works for ya.

Have a nice life. . . .

All hail the newest Village Idiot- eightdriver

Didn't Airtran post a growth REDUCTION!!! Don't bet on a 2-3 year upgrade...

Every village has their Idiot, and I guess you are our newest one. All Hail 8driver, just crowned our newest V.I. (Village Idiot).

The 737 CA awards for September actually dropped down to 2 years, 4 months, where it will likely remain for a while, with 6 more 737 this year, 19+ for 2007, 20 more in 2008. and a total of 70 73NG's ordered, I think the upgrade will stay below the 3 year mark for quite a while . . . of course, our Village Idiot heard otherwise, so let's go with his info.

Hey, V.I., how about telling us when our new contract will be TA'd . . . . let us know what your magic 8-ball says . . . .

So what kind of stuff to they do on a Midex interview?

50 question written technical test. 85% to pass. Basically out of the ATP written guide but each question has 4 possible answers instead of 3 like in the Gleim.
Then a series of panel interviews. Two 1 on 1 interviews about 30 min each. Then three 2 on 1 interviews at about 30 min each. Mostly situational type questions. Almost all of our applicants have been a PIC at a regional airline so alot of the ?'s are tailored torwards past 121 experience in the PIC role.
Overall a very enjoyable experience. Everyone is very freindly and relaxed. None of this intimidation bull$hit.

As Mr Webb says... Our upgrade isn't 3 years so maybe you would be better off at Value Jet...oop's I mean Airtran.

so with the projected growth decrease ( that sure sounds like an oxymoron) what do ya tranny guys see as an upgrade time for a newhire??? Wheres the next crew base gonna be????? Whats the rumor for year 1 FO pay on the next contract???? And when you are done with the crystal ball can I borrow it!
