A couple of us thought you might have flown a little more than that 500 hour at MW as your quote alluded to, based upon your passionate posts. It is important to insure we get what we deserve compensation-wise, just make sure you don't get buried in it at the expense of being the best 717 pilot there ever was-that will pave the long career path,...and save yer ars (self survival is first) and the 80 or arsses behind ya-that's the bottom line. I've seen alot of good guys who were only ZONE Fivers, burn up and buy the farm quickly-Fer what it's worth. And we're hiring-if yer good. Cheers and Have a great Christmas!

I think it was one part- You're too new to know what you're talking about. I think the other part is a movie quote from 'The Right Stuff'. Sounds familiar, just can't quite place it. Maybe a Yeager line about test pilots.

I do not want to see what the 4th Quarter numbers are going to look like for MEH. We have had so many cancelled flights lately cause of the weather. There have been a few days where there has virtually been a systemwide cancellation. Yesterday and today are no exception. Not a good way to start the Christmas weekend. Merry Christmas to all on this board. Hope 2008 is everyone's best year yet.

uh, ok. you're right i'm wide eyed. midwest is a tame tiger compared to the daily beatdowns at AMR, Inc.
 
Tried to get out on YX today. Was at the airport since 0630. I love how the boards only say delayed with no update times except when the cancelled appears. I didn't know that YX can only do CAT I. Saw Citrus and a Northwest land Cat III. Passengers couldn't figure it out and thought Midwest was screwing them over. Hell even Skywest does Cat II. Oh well. Couldn't get Christmas off originally. Thanks MKE weather now I can stay home with the family!
 
Skyway had Cat 2 ready to go just before ME, but they wouldn't justify the cost of the training on either end. And there was no way they would let Skyway get signed off before ME. You would think that a couple of days like this in MKE (1000RVR) would justify the cost. Especially during a holiday.

You seem to let the piss ants stomp on you. I've seen some good pilots get caught up in the menutia and become so disallusioned, they forget about the good things of flying. The "Zone Fivers" is an old Pentagon term, so forget it, ya had to be there. How did you become so famous at Alteon in ATL? And Cat 3's are pretty cool, if you do them right.

Slack, glad we could help you out on getting Christmas off. Our pilots have been trying to get CAT 3 for years. The argument from mgmt was benefit/cost ratio was not in our favor because of our size and not enough major fog events to justify. So we're supposed to get it in 08 but now with Timmy screamin poor-mouth it will probably get shelved again.
