Oh, how so wrong you are. You act like a couple extra days off per month is no big deal. Are you kidding me? Not only that, but let's quickly brainstorm a brief list of differences between a quality contract and a Mesa like contract....
1) vacation days and pay rules
2) pay protection for cancellations
3) block or better
4) per diem pay
5) min day pay
6) junior man rules
7) sick pay and rules
8) trip productivity rules
9) training pay and protection
10) hourly pay rules
11) ETC....
The myth of everything is peachy with the Mesa contract because it's "similar to all the other regionals" is absolute s**t and if it continues will lead us all down a degrading path away from what used to be a decent career.
It is this mentality that allows mesa to keep afloat. They can always find some ignorant a$$ who cares more about making less money and so called security than looking out for the industry as a whole. IDIOT! If we all stuck together and had great contracts such as Air willy, Comair(before concessions), XJET, etc. and all worked for a great hourly rate we would control mgt. instead of them controlling us because of jacka$$es who will STEAL my job because they will do it for less and for a $hitty QOL, but hey at least he/she will get to fly a shiny jet. Whoopee!!!! Since when did mesa have more job security, didn't Us airways get rid of them except for the 90 seaters(which should be at mainline)? Oh yeah they did and then they went and said they would do CHQ flying in MCO for Delta for less than the CHQ pilots. Sorry, but stealing jobs is not security!!! I only hate mesa pilots who support their company and contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
