Suprised that anyone would take a seatlock to fly that jet from the right seat. SJS.. such a terrible affliction.

The recalls touched to bottom of the list too. But it looks like there is still a fair amount of recall bypassing.

Yeah, some of those people are awfully high up. They have seniority numbers that were captains less than a year ago.

Are the 900s going to fly the ole Avro routes?

Was there a change to the "blended" FO payscale that I missed or were these guys still drunk from the heavy drinking during downgrade class?

Well, they're going to be FO's for the next 27 months now, if they stay at Mesaba. On the other hand, maybe they're just waiting for their class dates at Southwest (or some other better job), and felt like learning one more airplane before they go.

27 months, thought it was 24 months (two years) thats the seat lock if i am not mistaken. If I were waiting for something other than a quick Sab upgrade, I would have gone over. Especially if I did not htink we were getting more than 36 planes and attrition was not so HIgh. I know people who are in school, or have a sugar mamma, etc that never plan on upgrading, so, with that, why not take the 900

I think he is just pi$$ed off that someone took his slot. I noticed he bypassed and is holding out to return to the 900. Maybe we could question his motives for staying furloughed just to hold out for the jet where he will make less $$$ and have a much worse schedule. Oh....Yes....I forgot...It's SJS.

1 month til training starts + 8 weeks after the first day of ground school (or end of training) + 24 months = 27 months. It'll probably end just in time for a reasonable SF3 upgrade.

There's nothing at all wrong about switching over. Being #1-#10 FO is way better than #100 CA, if you don't need the CA pay or PIC right away.

Besides, how long will anything stay shiney at Mesaba?

The most junior guy is from the sept 05 class, which was the last class before the furloughs began, and he is 7 from the bottom.

When will the recalls go out? I imagine the award list will still change some, or do they already have a good idea of the returning numbers?

The award shows the bottom 8 guys got MEM SF340 FO. This means that anyone senior to them had the option to bypass. The furloughed pilots who showed up on the award did not bypass and actually had a position bid in for something other than to "remain on furlough" I would imagine that pilots not electing to returning would have preferenced "remain on furlough" When it got down to the bottom 8 pilots on the list, there were still 8 slots to fill so if any of them had "remain on furlough" on their preference, it was not honored so they will either have to take the recall or resign. If all 8 resign then they will have to force 8 recalls starting from the bottom and going up. The award will change a little but not that much.... depends on how man pilots bid a position with no intention of returning and will just "no show" the class date out of spite. I'm sure there will be a few of those.

I guess this isn't a huge surprise, but they aren't filling any CRJ-200 positions. There are 8 crj captains going to the 900, but no awards to the 200. Is there a date in which the 200 is supposed to be gone? Or, is everyone cross trained and legal to fly both?

The 8 crj 900 captains you are refering to are bypassing the 8 crj200 captains that are senior to them. In other words they still need someone to fly the 200 until it goes away sometime in june. Once it's of property those 8 200 captains will get 3-6 days difference training and "bang" right back on the 900. In essence you have enough cpatains for 3.5 900's with only sending on group of new crj cpatains to yul.
Also worth noting they also bypassed the crj 200 fo's too. About half to an upgrade to the Saab and the others took the CRJ900.
Also worth noting that those fo's in the 200 will be "displace" once the aircraft is off property so they will not be seat locked into their next position, hence if they take the 900 fo slot they are not going to be seatlocked.

Besides the 8 most junior guys that are speculated to be on the list because its there last chance, I wonder how many other names appear on the award that just didn't update there preference bid since they aren't coming back?

Once the letters go out I would imagine they will revise the bid award?

That's my guess. I'd think the further down the list they go, the less likely people will come back too. A lot of those people were furloughed well over a year ago I believe.

Seven,
Come on you dirty bird .................... when do you start class??

Even though I am not on furlough, and cannot do this, I would do as follows. When it came time to decide what to do on my furlough, and I made my mind up that I was not coming back, I would not resign. I would wait until I got a class date and just not show up. Then I would call up and say I was super sick and would like to make the next class date. Then guess what? I would not show up for that one as well. Why? Because of the crap they put us through. It was a sham of a bankruptcy and a sham of a restructuring. So all of you out there, go for it! It will make things more interesting around here for a while. By the way, I think they did not put move dates n the bid so they can individually use us where they want when they want. Hope its soon, I would rather be a schduling whore out of msp rather than MEM.

And people criticize me for not letting go - look at this guy! If you're that angry about XJ, just leave!

All I was saying is that if i was furloughed....anywhere for a second time, anywhere. what goes around comes around period. Now I will say, I generally like my job, I like most of the people, and I like MSP as a base. Now I also realise it could be better, and could be worse. I also know tht this is a means to a better job. I also would like to add, you screw me (furlough me twice) I would do all in my legal means to screw you too. There you go, not bitter, but think the scenerio I said earlier would be funny, and poetic justice for those furloughed

...it's your career dude

no call .......... no letter ............. no love!!

Doesn't matter, just my first furlough and was curious as to how the recall went - it's not happening as I imagined it would.

Anyway, good luck.

i was given a furlough letter once before, not this time though. Many seemed to have misunderstood what I meant, I was not doing this, I just said if i were pissed off and was screwed over by the company in the sham of a bankruptcy and given a second furlough and WAS not planning on coming back. seriously...... I am not doing this, It WOULD be poetic justice if I or someone else did this. OH and I do not hate my job, I do not hate Mesaba, I do think it was crappy what they did, though i do realise it was almost genius in the business sense. I am here for the long haul, that is until I can get PC time and go somewhere else. That for me is the long haul, and hopefully will, this is a vehicle for me, and I refuse to jump to another lateral airline. Now, I made my bed, I am going to make it the best place while I work here, that does not mean I cannot laugh and say "what if" I am not bitter, I am a realist.
