Rossa asked me for the information to clarify. There is no way they are going to just a fleet of 49 a/c. Do you have any idea how much money would be wasted if they did that? They will keep, all but those 11 saabs in service until they start replacing the fleet. (76 seat cjrs or 100 seat erjs) Remember, the avro is a viable plane with 85 seats.

ANY plane is viable if the leases are low enough and you charge enough for a bloody ticket!
ALPA is calling XJ mngt's bluff on the financials - this doesn't mean FEB 15th furloughs won't happen. Infact, they most likely will, but NWA needs this thing turned around by spring/summer, if XJ pilots are still getting the shaft by then...............we may be in for a summer of LOVE!!!

Some of you actually believe what the big wigs are telling you? Haven't you learned your lesson by now. Mesaba is doing fine. NWA is just doing its classic smoke and mirrors to get us to take pay cuts and steal flying from the mainline. I have only two words for them... F*CK OFF!!

They've been saying that for months now, not really new news here. Just remember that the Avros were gone two years ago also. Funny thing is I still see them at he gates. I'll take my chances on this one.

Mysteryofflight,

Unfortunately, most of the furloughs occuring on Jan. 9 are not voluntary. There were only a handful of voluntary furloughs awarded. There have been some involuntary furlough dates swapped (the company allowed swaps to happen in an LOA with our MEC). The 21 that are already furloughed included at least 13 involuntary from class earlier in the fall.

For all of those getting furloughed, you are, and will continue to be a part of the XJ pilot group. Being furloughed is not an easy experience. Stay informed and in contact with those of us that aren't furloughed (yet) unless you are fortunate enough to get on with someone else soon. In that case, don't look back. Let's just hope that things turn around soon.

Good luck to everyone.

Just because in almost happened two years ago, doesn't mean the Avro's are going now. Two years ago, NWA exercised a clause that gave them the ability to squeeze us. Jinglepants squealed like a stuck pig. If NWA had puled the Avros back then, they still would've been stuck with the leases. Now they can dump the leases, the high fuel bills, and the ungodly MX costs for that fleet of English brilliance.

Spanjers and Special Ed have their hopes pinned on stealing CRJ flying away from 9E. Saab flying will be put up for bid, just the same as the CRJ flying has. Colgan will bid, and Shuttle America still has the SF340 on their ticket, even though they are moving to all E170. Don't think for a moment that Bedford won't try to get they flying. XJ mgmt plans to win the bin by cutting the legs out from under any employee they can. They can't think of another way to show value in our flying, and NWA doesn't care.

What? Bedford? You obviously do not work for us. BB has No intentions of flying anything smaller than 50 seats, and even those are going away. Don't speak what you don't know:laugh:

From December 28 issue of company Newslaunch....

-Mesaba's final fleet will consist of 49 Saab B+ aircraft

This Newslaunch was complete propaganda! OMG! The sky is falling!

I don't believe a word in this document!

The facts:
- NW owns 28% of us, with warrents (valued at approximately $8/share) to purchase another 2.1M shares in the new ASA. If exersized, would bring NW ownership to 40%. You wouldn't include these warrents in the ASA if you knew they were going to be worthless! (they currently are, MAIR stock around $4.50 and would remain if XJ was a 49 saab operator)
- NW controls us 100% (NW and Polad are one in the same). A conflict of intrest, in my opinion; all shareholders should know that the share price is totally dependant on NW
- XJ management, after 3 months, still hasn't given all the requested financial data to ALPA for review. One would think that if a company was truely in need of concessions, they would be more than willing to give this information in a timely manner.
- Based on the aircraft that we know are not flying (9 Avros in desert and 11 saab to 9E, this is a 23% fleet reduction) we should be furloughing about 230 pilots and displacing half that many. This is far from the planned 119 and 74 respectively!
- John didn't even know address of the place he works every day!!! Someone had to write it down on a piece of paper and give it to him during the court hearing, so it could be stated for the record!
- All of this data rests on the assumption that we will be a 49 saab operator. Come talk to me when this happens!

Actually, don't! I won't be providing my services to XJ by that time!!!
