I wonder if the company will hold people 3 months right off the bat or not?

I heard that they are going to hold people back for the max amount of time (3 to 6 months as applicable). It is actually as good deal for those held back though because your seniority and longevity are the same as if you started at NWA on your original date without being held back.

It should be clarified that when people speak of LCAs/etc. "quitting," it means resigning from that position, not quitting the whole job and leaving XJ altogether.

hey guys, not wanting to butt in too much but a few ?? I was hired there in 98 left for greener pastures in 05, was a saab capt for 5yrs, and find myself on the "west" side of a seniority dispute. Just curious of the roads not traveled. I would be around the mid-200's on the list, where would that put me in the current company? Also to be fair, for some reason I still have access to mymesaba but only certain parts so I don't know where I would fall on this whole flowthrough (congrats, thats news to me). Just curious on how my life would have been. Luckly I missed out on the whole BK but I was marching that cold January night when we were about to see if the strike would happen. AW was a great easy going place until the merger. Now with stagnation and a group of people who hate me with no other reason than I happened to get hired there. I'm wondering what XJ is like now. When I left the CP's still backed you up and we had our rough times but it seems from reading the posts here that this is a completly differnt company.(P.S. ignore the CRJ in my profile that was about 3 x-pads ago and some guys were having some fun with me) AWest was a blast by the way, the New US, not so much.

You could hold any CA seat at XJ except MSP -900 (you could hold -200). There are plenty of -900 CA people below #250 in the company. It was a big blow in DTW when CW and SK left as the CPs, but DV has been a very good replacement. XJ is not QUITE as pilot friendly, however, with our "new" DFO JR attempting to penalize pilots outside of ASAP. Nonetheless, training (Saab anyway) is still top notch and I think the instructors still genuinely care. Tons of new people in the crew rooms (lower 40% of seniority list) and lots of learning going on. Still a good place to be, but lots flow/vacancy/training issues. ALPA keeping busy keeping our management in line.

anyone with the ear to the ground on JR know what his motives are? I mean I know a few old chiefs who are now line pilots and instructors who personally know the guy. I met JR once, seemed pretty cool. Now he seems to be playing hard ball with our careers on stupid issues which should be resolved without job action. Although yes, the one issue definately deserved job action.......but why is he making the threats about seat locks and forcing people to take positions (and forcing them to take a 1 year road block to NWA)

Probably because, behind the scenes, they are whipsawing CPZ and XJ for the remaining 18 jets.

....and in this corner, Occam's Razor, in to wrangle with Your Pilot Friend. Both here from the alternate universe, the Major Thread.
Kind of like the old Star Trek episode, only funnier...
