If anything would make it dangerous it would be a lack of experience in a new airframe, not the type of engines it has. Jets are easier to fly than props.

This happens every day at ACA, ASA, Horizon, PSA and any other airline that has both props and Jets. The fact is that MOST prop FO's at Mesa go to prop CA due to the much faster upgrade, then to jet CA down the road. Jet CA is running 4 yrs right now so the prop FO's are not newbie's to airline flying. -Bean
