Mesa Air Group expresses an interest in China

Mesa Air Group (Phoenix) is tentatively discussing with potential partners in China long-range plans to operate (through a Chinese partner) 50-seat regional jets in China. The market for these smaller regional jets is expected to shrink in the USA and this would be a method to redeploy the aircraft in the future.

I doubt that they would do it for less...they would just be 100% more productive for the same money.

Fasted and most accurate load time of a 747 freighter that I have ever seen is in Shanghai, and they are that fast all the time. Spend a week running between PVG, ICN, and Hong Kong and you realize just how lazy the average american worker has become. (Myself included)

Maybe thats where the GO! jets will end up.... they will already have the ferry tanks from the West Coast - HI Ferry flights out here.

Support the Chinese Communists way to go, just when I thought American companies could not f things any more. Hey why don't we just fly into North Korea as well or even better we could fly the DPRK troops into South Korea durring an attack! Feeegin sad man. China blows

He maintained the financial risk for Mesa will be minimal and said bookings for the introductory $39 fares are encouraging. "If we can run load factors in the 80% range, we're not going to lose much money," he claimed.

Sure you can: just charge less than it costs to operate. In that case every ticket you sell represents a greater loss.

How does he think he got those airplanes from Independence in the first place?

We fly in there and pick up everything from Victorias Secret to home stereos.....

I hate to tell you, but you support them too. Look around your house and start looking for "made in China" stickers. Guaranteed you are going to find them everywhere.

What we need to be doing is hauling just as much stuff west as we are east across the pacific. Heck I just found 4 on my desk......all american companies....all built in China. (Calculator, stapler, fax machine, magic markers)

Two things come to mind

The wages that are paid will finally be livable, rice is cheap and you can buy that chicken that died from a VD for .02 cents a pound.

JO will turn a 50 seater into 60 seater or more now that he isn't flying large assed americans and still pay thwe same pathetic wages.:puke:

“Mesa Air Group is eyeing as fertile ground for new growth, Chairman and CEO Jonathan Ornstein said.”

Chinese proverb: Man who grow in fertile ground often smell of ********************

“We would do it in some sort of partnership."

Chinese proverb: Round-eye thinks honorable Chinese is partner, suck on bong too long.

"Jonathan thinks out of the box. That's what I like about him. He's exploring various ideas."

Chinese proverb: Man who think outside of box often find himself laying in one.

"If we can run load factors in the 80% range, we're not going to lose much money,"

Chinese proverb: Round-eye who want to lose money make good partner for honorable Chinese

You've watched Team America too many times. Get a clue.

"Ancient Chinese Proverbs"

Virginity like bubble, one prick, all gone.

Man who run in front of car get tired.

Man who run behind car get exhausted.

Man with hand in pocket feel cocky all day.

Foolish man give wife grand piano, wise man give wife upright organ.

Man who walk through airport turnstile sideways going to Bangkok.

Man with one chopstick go hungry.

Man who scratch ass should not bite fingernails.

Man who eat many prunes get good run for money.

Baseball is wrong: man with four balls cannot walk.

Panties not best thing on earth but next to best thing on earth.

War does not determine who is right, war determine who is left.

Wife who put husband in doghouse soon find him in cat house.

Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night.

It take many nails to build crib, but one screw to fill it.

Man who drive like hell, bound to get there.

Man who stand on toilet is high on pot.

Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement.

Man who fish in other man's well often catch crabs.

Man who fart in church sit in own pew.

Crowded elevator smell different to midget

Stolen from somewhere on the internet.

A little perspective here.

EVERY US MAJOR wants a piece of the China market - - some are positioned to pull it off, and some aren't. It's a HUGE growth market, with ENORMOUS POTENTIAL for virtually UNLIMITED GROWTH. (*)

*(hey, wait, mabye I'm getting "market" confused with "my penis" . . . or my "big-fat-mouth-that-should-have-a-sock-stuffed-in-it.)

But if anyone's been following the news articles, JO's just been talking about being a minorty partner in some kind of CRJ size outfit . . . i.e., limited risk, which pretty much sums up Mesa's business model. It'll be a stock and/or money transaction, not a hands-on operation.

Mesa invests corporate profits in other U.S. based airlines all the time, looking for stock profits from other airlines. I doubt this will be any different.

Is that 'limited risk' like wanting to fly empty CRJs in Hawaii for five years? What business school teaches that 'business model'?

Elementary, my good sir, elementary . . .

Those extremely cheaply leased CRJ's represent something like 3% of Mesa's current fleet. Overall company exposure is minimal. And it will be an educational experience if Mesa wants to try something on a grander scale down the road . . . .

Ergo, "limited risk". Mesa isn't doing the FlyI, "all-or-nothing" approach.

(They ain't gonna be empty, either, that's a FACT. Proifitable (?) . . . well, that's anyone's guess . . . is gas gonna be $50/barrel in a year, or $150/barrel probably has something to do with it . . .)

Anyone else remember JO's big stand against China back when they were holding the EP-3 crew in 2001?

After reading all of this I think I've died, gone to hell, and gotten VD. Whew, I think I better go lay down now.

Team America is a funny movie RJP. If you guys are interested in China and how they are a growing problem for the US --

Just for kicks check this out:
Check out the PRC's development of 5th generation weapons techonology coupled with it down sizing of military troops by incorporating these force multipliers. If China is such a friend why are they developing new ICBMS designed to hit locations in North America? Check out the coast line near Taiwan, any missiles there to stop Taiwan from declairing formal indepence? Yes! Gee maybe that is why the 7th fleet parks itself off the Japanese coast. O don't mind about their desire to develop a blue sea navy (thats DoD speak for a big ocean going fleet). Why would they want that? To ship more toys and t-shirts over here? I think not. There is 3000 years of Chinese history which point to one sure-fire conclusion, they are the next big problem for the US in dealing with hegenomy.

You know, the sad thing here is that America is pretty much over as a world power in the next 10-30 years anyway. Guess who lends us all that $$$ so we can spend like there's no tomorrow . . . . .

CHINA.

Not to mention lack of national will. Do you honestly see President H. Clinton sending troops to defend Tawiaan in a shooting war? Puh-leese. Maybe a little statement about moral indignation, but no way is anyone gonna threaten our main supply of cheap crap.

So I for one say "Welcome!" to our new Chinese overlords!

Truth is spoken! I also doubt that Clinton would have done anything in the response, I guess I did not make that point. My bad. But your 100% correct about China being our new owner in the next decade or so. Sucks we are on a decline but hey every "empire" in history has always fallen, it is just a matter of how long until our country does.
