Yes, I'll be the first to say it. Karmas a b!tch, now you'll know what your company has put the rest of us through. Sorry to hear it though. Hey at least you have a TA on the table!

Well if anyone who is going to get the F-notice was a commuter from LA I was thinking of getting an F'ed pilot group together to go surfing sometime before the sun explodes...

Don't blame Mesa pilots for Mesa management's mistakes or unfair practices.

Blaming our fellow ALPA pilot groups doesn't help, blame management!

Don't sweat him...he is a schmuck that knows not why he is bitching....just that he is bitching and making himself feel good. Wouldnt it suck to fly with this guy? lol

I dont know what the he|| youre planning on gaining from blaming the pilots on this one. We're not talking about GoJet here...I have never met a MESA pilot I didnt have an awesome time with in IAD. I wish you all the best of luck right now!

Hahahaha! Comparing Mesa to Gojet like Mesa's the better carrier. That's funny, right there, I don't care who ya are.

No other airline is more responsible for BRINGING DOWN the regional's pay than MESA. At least Go Jet has a decent pay and contract and isn't the anchor man for pay. Nice try.

Having said that, I certainly don't wish ANY airline to furlough, including Mesa. Hell, if Mesa is furloughing, even the bottom of the bottom feeders can't make it, and we're all in a world of hurt. Best of luck.

You can't blame Mesa pilots however they do work for the worst regional airline. At least the 800 pilots that walked out last year did do some damage to Mesa that we're now seeing. I truly hope they get something out of negotiations, hopefully not something worse then they have now. You never know with J.O.

49 pilots were furloughed. Company email is the source. They were all in new hire training. The email went on to state that they intend to defend the Delta CRJ contract and the furloughs were as a result of the uncertainty of the situation. There is a standing bid out for the displacement of the JFK CRJ crews. Right now it looks like all of this is just precautionary. You never really know in this industry.

I'm sorry, but the pilots are somewhat to blame. You can't blame it all on management. These pilots chose these jobs and it is them who sit at the other end of the negotiating table.

Exactly. You Mesa turds knew what you were getting into when you went to work there. So your dreams of a quick jet upgrade on the backs of thousands of other regional pilots isn't quite panning out like you planned??? Karma's a real biatch somtimes.

Yes, JO took advantage of the Majors Hiring. Why not have a airline where you have sh$t workrules and pay for a chance of a quick upgrade. Hell, most of us would have taken a chance to upgrade in a Jet in two years and then by your 4 or 5 year at Mesa be at a major. This worked for many of there pilots.

Many don't remember when he said, "I pay my pilots more then enough money, every newhire class I run is full.
Times are changing. The internet (like Flightinfo) has help let people know what the hell goes on at the airlines, and now he (JO) realizes that the majors aren't hiring and if he wants to keep people he might have to "show them the money!"

This might be a good chance for MAG pilots..... Good Luck!

Good luck to all those furloughed. I'm not a fan of Mesa management (who is?), but this isn't something that I would wish on anyone, especially a fellow pilot.

With that said, this can't be a surprise to anyone. Heck, if Mesa folded up tomorrow, I doubt anyone would be that shocked.

Someone mentioned, however, that Mesa pilots are "getting what they deserved." I suppose that may be true, in some cases, but you really can't account for the individual reasons that people decided to work there. Maybe, for example, someone lived in PHX and doesn't want to commute so they can spend more time with their family. I wouldn't fault them at all for that, even if the management team completely sucks.

I would not worry about topdawg. If you go read most of his posting in the past. Almost every on has to do with Mesa or JO. I think he is in love with mesa

remind me who went out of business becasue of Mesa's last contract?

I quickly searched but couldn't find the thread back in 2001 where the Mesa pilot was telling the DAL furloughee that he will have a job forever and the DAL guy should be on the street because the MESA pilot claimed to be cheaper and more efficient.

Karma is a B.I.T.C....H!

I believe GO had a little something to do with ALOHA being put out of business...

Who is putting Express Jet out of business? Why did Big Sky go out of Business? Skywest started people at $19/hr for quite a while are they bottom feeders? Regionals are flying mainline routes all the time which probably has something to do with mainline pilots being furloughed. Blaming Mesa for all that ills our profession is not realistic nor is it helping anyone.

WSurf I like your crewmeal picture, but that was my crewmeal with the mouse not yours and it was PSA, sorry.

Seems like you were turned down after the interview at Mesa, were you?

I'm positive that if you ger furloughed from your present carrier and Mesa is hiring for the jet spot, you'd be the FIRST to send in an application.

Let me get this right - you think someone would be bitter for not getting a job at Mesa? What kind of crap do they feed you Mesa-ites in indoc?

Ahh yes..let the hypocrisy begin. The ol' it's ok for you to lose your job, just not ok for me...
That karma door that is mentioned swings many ways, even just speaking of ill will on others.

It never ceases to amaze me how quick pilots are to take jabs at others' misfortunes.

Can't we just agree that this is probably the worse time in the industry since sliced bread?

Pilots are their own worst enemies.

Grow up, people.

I'm not the original poster, but I'll respond...

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

In my years at mesa, I do not recall anyone ever getting turned down by mesa. I assume it happened once or twice, but only because of background issues which would preclude you from working at ANY airline.

I'd venture that almost no one in the airline business would ever take a job at mesa, knowing what we all know. I would most certainly never go back there, penty of other ways to make money without selling your dignity and self-respect.

Why yes, yes they are.
