short the stock

This post started because Andy shorted your stock. I don't know the timeframe for the expiration of the option, but I think that in the long run ACAI is not as viable as other LCCs because they don't "get it."

I can't prove it but I would bet money that if you polled all the pilots from ACAI, JBLU, and SWA and asked them you can go to:
ACAI folks...JBLU and SWA
JBLU folks...SWA and ACAI
SWA folks...JBLU and ACAI

the last two...almost no bidders...the first one...lots of rats would jump off the ship. Can't prove it but I do think it...and that doesn't bode well for long-term health of your company.

Management respect and how they "view" you is not the same as your biggest competitors. They look down on you as a group and most of your colleagues would hop over given the chance (my opinion...everyone has one).

I'm glad you're happy where you are...that's very important and who knows maybe 15 years from now Herb and David will be penniless and your boy Skary Skeen will be worth 8Billion...no one knows in this quirky business. Good luck and Happy Holidays...cyclone

I do see your point, but I think it is a little skewed in this case. First off, FLYI is not going head-to-head with JBLUE or SWA, they will compete in some of the long haul markets, but that should only be around 30%. Also when JBLUE gets the EMB, there will be more competition in the smaller markets. It is interesting that you didn't look at two other airlines in your comparison. If you want to get a better sense of what FLYI will be, look at AirTran or Frontier. I wonder where these airlines would rank in your unofficial poll. Do you think these airlines "get it". Pay at Frontier should be less than FLYI in the NB's, and how is the employee/management relationship at AirTran? Do you think anyone with 5+ years of seniority at ACA would go to AirTran/Frontier?

Sorry Cyclone, but I don't "get it" either.

As to your poll of pilots at SW and JB, sure, I wouldn't leave either of those places either if I were there, but I'm not. At my seniority I wouldn't leave for either of them, but if I were fresh out of Riddle I would go to 'em in a flash. Even USAir, America West and UAL pilots are going to jetBlue right now.

Sure, ACA/Indy is uncertain but remember several years ago folks were saying jet who? to jetBlue. Everyone thought Valuejet was going to sink into the swamp several years ago, but look at AirTran now.

Anyway, best wishes for the holidays to you as well sir.

Only time will tell how it will all pan out....
