What were the results from the Delta/Mesa trial on Friday. I thought the results would be posted by now or is the trial continuing into Monday?

It wasn't a trial, it was oral arguments before three judges from the appeals court.

It may take months for a decision but it is very unlikely that Mesa will lose. There wasn't any new evidence introduced and the standard to overturn the lower court is high.

Yup expect Delta to have to buy out Mesa to dump the ERJs. Will they, depends on how much is needed to pay but I'd be leaning toward yes.

Overturn? Overturn what? Mesa had received a preliminary injunction against DAL http://ad.doubleclick.net/imp;v7;j;211540940;0-0;0;17652487;0/0;30100567/30118444/1;;%7Eaopt=2/0/d5/0;%7Eokv=;beh=;pos=t1;vs=notopic;sz=728x90;tile=1;kw=atlanta;dcopt=ist;%7Ecs=q%3fhttp://m1.2mdn.net/1488751/HP200901291v1.htm?t=10&cT=http%3A//ad.doubleclick.net/click%253Bh%3Dv8/37c7/2/0/%252a/c%253B211540940%253B0-0%253B0%253B17652487%253B255-0/0%253B30100567/30118444/1%253B%253B%257Eaopt%253D2/0/d5/0%253B%257Esscs%253D%253f&l=http%3A//www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/gen/Delta_Air_Lines_Inc._7F7F42E4C1D94521945D68F6B74656D5.html to enjoin the airline from canceling Freedom Air's contract last fall.

All that meant was the judge said you can't cancel their contract until they have a full court hearing because doing so would cause permanent harm (ie they would go into BK). It had NOTHING to do with the merits of DL canceling or evidence that they could or could not justify it.

I think that DAL shot themselves on this one. Whitehurst singlehandedly destroyed their case. Lets see what the outcome is but I am not holding my breath.

Sounds like DELTA SUCKS!
no kidding, who told Delta to get involved with that freeking regional, they're like cancer.

If you give a chimp a gun and the chimp shoots someone, you don't blame the chimp. This one is Delta's fault, maybe that'll tech'em

I am sure we will keep this one in litigation on some level for some time to come.

I would be very surprised to see Mesa fly for DAL ever again.

Any idea why Delta decided to go with Mesa??? I know they were cheapest, but still, come on now.....

Continental and Delta are the best airlines the US has to offer, why did DAL get involved with freeking Mesa??

You gotta remember this is the same Delta that went with Big Sky out of BOS.

According to sources, Mesa stock was traded at very high volumes in the last 2 days and the price continues downward. Apparently, there are assumptions that the end is near

Because JO offered to pay for the leases on the ACA Dojets (until DL was able to get rid of them in bankruptcy) and to whipsaw the other regionals in the DL portfolio.....

The Big Sky/BOS deal was an attempt by Delta to fly overlapping routes with US Airways. The deal was signed when US Airways was making its hostile takeover bid of Delta. In case US Airways won its bid, and the merger made it as far as anti-trust rulings in the courts, Delta was going to be able to show that they and US Airways had too many overlapping routes, and that passengers would lose too many competitive options. Never mind that only US Airways had been doing most of those flights (via Colgan with 1900's) for years...
