There is nothing wrong with capitalism and corporatism. There is a problem with privatization of the state...
I don't get it. You seem to think that corporations in and of themselves are not desirable?
No they are fine to address consumer needs but not on large scale gov't needs.
Does the government or does a corporation make your paycheck possible?
Sure does. As I said, there is a place for everything, but what GWB has done in the last 7 years is appalling.
Would you prefer the government to give you what you need? From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs?
When we hand over our public space and our democratic process to corporations we no longer have civics and democracy.
Take a speeding or stoplight traffic camera. It is administered by the town but actually operated by a private company. This company actually earns its profits from the number of tickets it issues. Do you see the problem with this?
GOOD GRIEF, WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING IN SCHOOLS THESE DAYS?????
Charter schools are a big problem. Sure they sound good on paper... Corporations have been trying to get charter schools in many counties and town. When Katrina hit New Orleans the shock was tremendous... Quietly the entire public school system was replaced by private charter schools...
Why do you, personally, work for a corporation, if you have such radical viewpoints?
My viewpoints are not radical. The privatization our of gov't has taken on radical change. I don't like to see our public realms, civic areas and democracy handed over to corporations.
There are many who believe that everything the gov't does should be done by private companies. The gov't should only adminster the contracts and hand out truckloads of tax payer dollars. (which was basically done in Iraq. The US Military is simply a shell).
Do you agree with this?
Are you educated?
Why don't you move to Russia?
Your mentality is part of the problem. Capitalism, corporations and privatization is not democracy. I am fighting for democracy and its awareness.
You are championing corporatism. There is no voting in corporations. As an employee you accept policy. As a consumer you accept policy. The average shareholder will never own enough stock to influence the BOD. This is all fine for selling consumer products and services... but it is not fine for controlling our gov't services and products such as schools, fire, police, medicare, prisons, social security, IRS, Boarder Patrol, ATF, etc....
Your thoughts?
