One question... do you want an ex-fighter pilot who believes in the free market/less taxes/less government involvement? Or would like a "Junior senator from IL" /communist who believes we're not smart enough to make our own decisions about; taxes, healthcare, schools, etc.. and believes the government is the only institution smart enough to make decisions for us. I don't know about you guys, maybe i'm going out on a limb here.. but if you've ever read the communist manifesto, it seriously sounds a lot like the democrat/socialist party's candidate's platform. Very scary.

And Corporatism and Privatization of the State are not... something that GWB has been doing for 7 years!

Obama in two terms could not return our gov't and country to the corporate levels of the Reagan Admin... GWB has screwed us THAT MUCH!

On a side note there's a gate agent in Detroit on the A concourse that could be Barack's stunt double.

We pulled into the gate this evening and the captain says, "Hey, look Obama is here to drive the jetway" I just about fell outta my seat I was laughing so hard.

Truly a striking resemblance.

I was watching some coverage of the RNC and in McCain's bio montage it said that he had a son who is an airline pilot? Deets?

Wait you were watching the RNC? What happened to you man....you used to be cool....

Gas was 1.46 when Bush took office in 2001.

There won't be any pilot jobs to fight over when McCain allows cabotage, either. Unless you want to work for Air India or China Air.

Gas was around 80-90 cents when Clinton took office in 1992.

That being said, I think both candidates are total crocks of sh!t that could care less about you and me.

and most of you will be stabing each other in the back to get those jobs. and doing for less.....

Dude, is your avatar a pic of a PBR casket????? If so, nice form sir!!!

It is indeed. When I go, I am want to copy this guy! Who says you can't take it with you? Apparently uses it to keep his beer on ice at parties until the time comes!

A thought on the election: Remember that in all matters domestic, a system of checks and balances exists. The President, by and large, cannot make new law without the congress. Similarly, the congress cannot make new law without the President (except by overriding a veto with a 2/3rds vote in both houses). A symbiotic relationship, if you will.

However, in national security issues, the President enjoys almost a carte blanche authority to act without the congress' say so. While the congress can concievable deny funding for a particular enterprise, the President has the discretion as Commander-In-Chief to use the forces at his disposal. It is a situation almost unique in the world... The military is entirely accountable to civilian leadership in the form of the executive branch.

2/3rds of the job of President is filling that CINC role. The overriding question in my mind is "who makes the best CINC?"
