Ha ha, I love it how you liberals twist everything around.
Your statement was pretty cut and dried...not twisting needed. Way to act like you got victimized though.

I'm itchin' to be on a flight like this so I have my turn to tackle and restrain some idiot who thinks he doesn't have to follow the rules. How dare him disrupt everyone's travel and compromise safety. He'd definitely receive a few unexpected jabs and a broken jaw to boot.

You are just a glory hounding, tough typing, internet tough guy. gfy

This article was very vague. It seems the FA asked several men to move up front. What did he actually do besides ask to be seated closer to the cockpit. How does this evolve into him being tackled.

Were definitely not getting the whole story from that article. I'm sure (I hope) they had a good reason to restrain him.

IMO if you find yourself "in it", you damn well better do whatever it takes to stop the threat. If you are really worried about the liability and morality of it, you better just sit down quietly and hope someone else will defend your aircraft.

Or maybe it was the Junkyard Dog, the Ultimate Warrior, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Randy Savage, or Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Or even the Iron Sheik.

Or George "The Animal" Steele, King Kong Bundy or Ivan Putski. When wrestling was real!

I have to agree. He reminds of this guy I know who would brag about how much of an awesome kick boxer he was. Turns out the only kick boxing he's ever done was an aerobics class with a bunch of girls. It wasn't even Tae-Bo.

He claims no one would make it past his row. I have a feeling who ever wanted to, would get past his row and give him a wedgie.

There was an article on this board a few years ago about a Marine in ATL I believe, that was mugged by a group of kids (19-ish). He killed one or two, in defense.

The mob mentality on FI was bravado, Internet chest thumping, binary fist bumping, end zone victory dances, self induced aggrandizement and empowerment.... The general attitude was how the forum tough guys would do the same thing and kick some ass..... all talk....

The ex marine who killed the kid muggers felt terrible about the fact that he took a life. He didn't feel empowered, bravado or the desire to high five....

It seems like the whole story isn't here... as well...

In addition, some the pilots who give the most detailed V1 cut and other emergency briefings freeze up like shy little boys at the family reunion. The only time to prove ones self is at game time.... so until that happens lets all assume that we will all do what is needed and expected.

So who knows how you'll react when it comes time to act. But if being a tough guy on the forum feels good... then empower yourselves...

Wow, great speech Rez, I feel like I should be slapping a sign that reads "Play like a Champion" and running out of the tunnel on Saturday afternoons in South Bend. It gave me goosebumps!
Wait, nevermind.....it's just gas. You are one to talk about internet tough guys. Sure, you might not talk about physically beating people, but we have all seen your little temper tantrums when someone has an argument against ALPO. You become an tough guy by insulting their intelligence, among your other childish, immature behavior.

I'm not a kick boxer, tough guy or whatever. I am not a violent person. However, if I'm jumpseating in the cabin or an airliner, I am considered a crewmember. Any Captain would expect me to assist in defending the aircraft and stop a terrorist from entering the cockpit. You can think what you want, but I'm stopping any terrorist from running past my row.

Maybe one day you can grow a backbone, too!!

So you are a pilot... you are going to risk harming yourself and not being able to fly the jet if needed so you can do what most of the pax will do as well?

Is this the format were we determine who has backbone?

Why would he be flying "the jet" when he's sitting in the cabin? Can't you read at a 5th grade level yet?

Not really..... just because criminal charges were not filed doesn't mean the situation could have been handled differently and/or better. Then again.. I wasn't there.. and I wasn't on the PCL flight..... Not sure what the bravado chest bumping chatter is all about.

If there was a Marshall on board, he would have likely been shot to death. I don't know what the issue is here. There's no better way to handle an obvious threat in the air than lethal force.

Now if they strangled to death a Dominican guy because he had to use the lav and couldn't wait and got up while the seatbelt sign was on and he "looked" middle eastern, that's a different story. But when you're banging on the cockpit door, I don't know what you can really expect.
