Do you guys ever check your bags? I've never tried to carry on a 22-25 inch roller bag, but it seems like it would be a pain in the arse.

I only check them occasionally. Usually only if I have to use the expandable portion after a long rotation or buying gifts.

I don't trust the airlines with my luggage; I barely trust them to get me to my destination.

K Mart blue light special for $59.00 works great (Concourse), 25 inch and carries easy on airlines even when expanded.

I have a 27" PNS bag and I never check it. I've never had a problem, although I always travel in uniform. Half the time I'm on an RJ anyway so it still gets thrown in the back.

Word of advice, Netjets does not care if you check your bag on the way home, but be careful checking it on your first day.

If the company airlines you to a plane on day 1 they expect you to be ready to go when you get there. Don't try and use the excuse of "I cannot do the trip - the airline lost my bag."

Does not go over well.

I am always skeptical about checking my bag. I never like to check things that I can't live without because they may loose it.

Since we are on the subject, guitars. I know some guys at NJA bring them on tours. Do you guys check them or carry them on the airlines. I'm going to DAL and I think I'm bringing my guitar this time. This way I don't spend all of my per diem on porn. It is like 15.99 for the cheap porn these days.

My problem has always been finding a good second bag. To hold my labtop,(outdated so still a little big) and some books and other small items. Any reccomendations?

Go get yourself an inexpensive travel guitar like the Washburn Rover ($150). Full length but still fits in an overhead. Sounds great. Leave the nice one at home.

Computer Bag

Model 321A (the bottom model) is the best computer bag out there. The bag is reinforced with hard thick plastic which protects your computer, tons of pockets, expandable so when you STUFF it full of papers, books, and binders, it all fits AND you can zip it up.

Go pro and buy the stealth roller-bag. This computer bag will clip on nicely or attach via. a standard roller-bag hook. Either way they work perfectly together and WA-LA...you have a portable office.

I rarely have to leave anything behind on a trip using this combination - and I'm running a business out of the bag while I'm on the road - works perfect.
