The two longest we do at Compass are DTW-MTY (Monterrey, Mex) and MSP-YVR... I forget the mileage, but they're both like watching paint dry on a cool damp day.

fellas...it's not "ETOPS" that you're referring to. There is not an RJ on this planet that is approved for ETOPS. I believe the term you're searching for is the "EOW" exemption....Extended Over Water.

ETOPS is Extended range Twin engine Operating Performance Standards. A completely different animal.

We go 379nm off shore with our 190s and it's NOT an ETOPS rating...it's a variation of the "EOW".

Headfake,

Did you notice I said ETOPS for RJ's. Like baby ETOPS.

Don't get your panties in a wad.

If you came from ASA cut your old ASA brother some slack.

IT WAS A JOKE!

I know CRJ's don't have the true ETOPS.

Pinnacle used to do DTW-AUS daily as well as MSP-SAV on occassion... my butt still hurts.

edit: those were CRJ2 legs...each very close to 1000. absolutely rediculous.

MSP - ELP around 2005

those were long legs but the margaritas at Carlos and Mickeys, especially with the "Juan" and only were awesome........

Oh Metro you really want to start trouble!

At Comair we used to do JFK-AUS, and that was blocked at 4:30. Don't know the mileage. Would have to stop for fuel sometimes if the winds were strong.

Nothing to be proud of boys and girls...NOTHING!!!!!

I personally don't know any regional guy who likes sitting in that airplane for more than 2 hours, let alone 3-4 hour legs.
Regionals should only be flying props, with short legs.

But once upon a time, there were some mainline guys and a Union...sorry an ASSociation, who were too good for the regional jets. Now all their flying belongs to the regionals.

They F'ed up.

I flew with a CA a few weeks ago on an EWR-NAS turn (7.5 hrs round trip) who bids day trips like that and like EWR to OKC/MCI/OMA/MSP/TUL/XNA/MEM/LIT because being in a cockpit for hours on end made him "feel more like a REAL airline pilot". He also called our E-145 a "jet for beginners". It's called little d!ck syndrome.

I don't know the mileage, but at XJT we used to do IAH to Flores, Guatemala. It didn't last long, and it's probably not the record holder, but seriously, Guatemala in an RJ - you can't say that Shuttle America..... All you spoiled US/Canada RJ drivers should try flying into third world countries - adds a whole new perspective to how little we all get paid.

An XJT EMB-145XR flew from the West to the East coast, nonstop!

Hey T2S, do you remember that one of our birds (believe it was a charter XR) that flew from the West to the East coast? Offhand do you remember the details of it?

I remember hearing something about it. If you look at the SPM (which I have on our EWR-OKC flights, yawn), if you pull it back to something like .72 it will do over 5.5 hours. So I guess in theory or reality, if you can get up to alt quickly and have favorable winter winds, I can see SFO-EWR or something similar.

SEA-EWR, I think it was a repo flight, but it was definitely a charter plane/crew.

LAX-XNA is only 1191nm (great circle mileage)

Shuttle also used to do JFK-AUS on the E170 (1322nm)

Eagle did RDU-AUS (1009nm) on a E135

XJT doing IAH-CYYZ in an XR is 1112nm

From my upstairs bathroom to my downstairs bathroom is just over 130 feet, and takes about 20 seconds to get there.
However, I may take a dump upstairs, realize there is no toilet paper, and make it to the downstairs crapper in under 10 seconds (with underwear cradling the ankles all the way down.)

SKYWEST IS GETTING A320s with ETOPS!

Sure, as long as five year captians make $130/FO's make $75 and ten year is $140/$85.

Oh, you mean you weren't serious ??

I once flew Greensboro to DFW in a CRJ 200 with 165 kts dead on the nose, 3:35 block.
