One of the best...no, the best political post I've seen on this forum. Thanks, Brett.

Liberals usually can only support an argument with name calling, lying and their favorite: shouting down conflicting viewpoints.

Satan: Hence the reference to Rush as 'bloated'. My. my you had to resort to picking on PERSONAL appearance to get enough adjectives to crititicize him. Thank you for proving my point.

This is why the colleges and universities have so systematically resisted diversity in their academic ranks. Most profs at the major schools are liberals. This is because they cannot stand feeling intellectually impotent when debating with conservatives.

Liberals sound their best when their is no challenge allowed to their assumptions/spin/lies.

Franken is ill-suited to this job. I'm sure they could have found a better candidate. OR maybe not?

I'm not so sure about that...the list of people that I think can of that were/are bigger than the country they were/are running is short and ugly.

Hitler
Hussein
Napolean
Mussolini
Stalin
Castro
Jong-il
al-Assad
Mugabe
Qadaffi
Milosovich
Ho Chi Minh

Al Franken

Did anyone else catch the man best know for playing Stewart Smally on SNL's appearance on Howard Stern this morning?

I found it really funny that, after slamming Rush Limbaugh's prescription drug adiction (that he developed while trying to medicate two failed back surgeries) a caller asked Smally, er, Franken about HIS cocaine habit.

Franken stammered for a couple of seconds before laying out an excuse about how he used to do blow while working on SNL's set in order to "stay awake." No coffee around, Al?

Other highlights:
-He "doesn't know" if he owns part of the new liberal radio network
-He tiptoed around a question about wether the DNC is helping to fund this new venture (they are)
-He acknowledged that he got some things wrong in his own "truthfull" document

What was that title? Lying Liars and the liars who tell them?

Speaking of Democrats, what the hell is up with Democrat Attorney Generals anyway?

Our governor (D) is a psycho ex-state Atty General, then you got his current Atty General Peg Lautenschlager (D) that was fined for using a state car on personal business while getting her DWI from the state patrol.

Then Minnesota Attorney General Mike Hatch's (D) kids go down to Chicago and make asses out of themselves. I don't think the cops down there are going to take it lightly either.

If I was the cop that got struck, not only would I not let my prosecutors office drop the Assaulting an Officer charge, but I would sue her little ass just on general principle.

Here's a link to the story on the little liberal rich kids that can't hold their liquor....

You just described every right-wing talking head I've ever come across. (It's the old conservative strategy of accusing the other side of being everything you are.)

Very interesting...and totally irrelevant. See, we were talking about the United States, sqwk...Brett said "this country."

Nonsense!!

The real problem with this country is people who post pictures of little children wearing only *one* bootie!!!

It's disgraceful...

When I was a kid nobody posted pictures of anything on the internet because *there was no internet*!!!

What is this world coming to?

<storms off in disgust and anger to grab a drink with that Jmmmtttccccc kid...>

;)

Hey, it adds to the charm.....who can argue with a face like that?:D

For the record, I didn't say that GWB is bigger than the Country. I didn't even imply that he was on the same level as those posted by sqwkvfr.

What I did say is that there are those on this forum who would rejoice in the country being renamed "The United States of George W Bush". And that, my friends, is sad.

And I'm sure a republican has never abused alcohol, or have improperly used a government car.

Thanks for the complement, Typhoon1244. At least someone else around here sees the big picture.

Hey, I'm wondering...does Bush take it in the a$$?

Bush is not perfect, but he is definitely the lesser evil.

While running his primary campaign in SC, Bush was in a must win situation. The Bush campaign then called McCain supporters and informed them that McCain was the father of a black child. Bush won the state. This not only defines evil to me but it says alot about republicans in SC. By the way, McCain is the father of a black child, Bridgette, one he adopted from Bangladesh.

Anyone else notice that when Dubya spins around his head stays straight, like Linda Blair in the Exorcist. He really is Satan. (no offense to you, flightinfo.com user Satan). :D

Here's my question: Why do you guys have such incredibly strong loyalty to GWB? What has this one man done for you? This country is bigger than the man running it. I get the impression that, if GWB keeled over and died of a heart attack, some of you would crawl in a hole and start babbling incoherently about the end of the world. Why will some of you die hard conservatives not admit that some of his policies are just plain wrong? The Patriot Act, for example.

Please don't call me a liberal John Kerry supporting tree hugger. He's an idiot, too. And Bill Clinton, and......

IMHO, not that it matters, we would be a helluva lot better off if we would ditch the labels (conservative and liberal) and start holding the politicians accountable for their actions, instead of blindly following them because they hide under the Elephant or Jackass symbol.

There hasn't been any abuses of the Patriot Act ( in fact Sen Diane Feinstein, Dem. from Ca. and Sen Joe Biden-Dem, and other leftists have admitted as much) the govmt uses the same powers to surveil organized crime figures and last time I checked most criminals were U.S. citizens. Don't remember any leftists bemoaning criminals "rights." GWB may not have all the answers, but after 9/11 the terrorist community who orchestrated the slaughter of 3000 civilians in this country got aquinted with B-52s and cruise missiles. That's good enough for me. We should all thank our lucky stars that Al Gore wasn't the Pres when the terrorists hit us. He would have capitulated like the Spanish just did.

Incorrecto!

The Spanish govt has not capitulated. They got thrown out.

The new govt has yet to make a move.

Or maybe you're talking about the Spanish people? Well they had their opinions all along didn't they?

See what happens when a govt pushes their own agenda?

Shame, shame.

Inline, do you really think that if Gore was President during 9/11 we wouldn't have gone into Afghanistan? Give me a break. And I guess if a Democrat was President during Pearl Harbor we wouldn't have declared war on the Japanese. Oh, wait a minute...

Bush's administration has a better handle on what needs to be done to fight terrorism than some people would believe.

And yes it's true, up front the patriot act may seem kind of scary to people that believe in alien conspiracy theories, chem trails, big foot, loch ness monsters and boogie men, but the assault on civil liberties percieved to be ensconced in the USA Patriot Act, only affect terrorists and criminals.

Had the Bush administration wished to show a distrust of THE PEOPLE he would have placed restrictions affecting second amendment rights in the act, which he didn't. It is the Democrats that distrust the people and that is why they push for laws that curtail individual rights such as ludicrust gun banning laws.

The government doesn't have the manpower, the technology or the funds right now to waste it's efforts on sleuthing the internet or the phone lines to harass innocent people.

Terrorism isn't a war that is going to go away soon and our enemies are many. Our country and it's way of life are a beacon to those that envy us and they will stop at nothing to see us suffer loss of innocent lives, disruptions to our transportation and destruction of our industry and private property.

I havn't heard this, but in the 2000 election, my mother-in-law, a middle school teacher in Georgia, told me that a lot of the black kids in her class were terrified of the prospect of George W. Bush becoming president. When she talked to them, she found that someone had been telling them that if Dubya were elected that he would enslave the black people again.

Telling lies like that to little kids is one of the lowest things that I can think of.

Bush won Georgia in spite of it.
