Can't we get over the labeling and division that comes with calling one side a liberal and the other conservative? I believe in the right to clean air, clean water, national parks, union's rights, etc. Does that make me a liberal?

I also believe in the death penalty, an end to all illegal immigration, an end to 95% of worker visa programs and the right to bear arms that are not of the automatic assault type. Does that make me a conservative?

Most people want the same things but are forced into one camp or the other by the media hype and hysteria and from listening to those who refuse to have an open mind and consider all aspects on both sides of an issue.

Our country is growing more and more divided. Until we get a government that truely has the ability to mend fences, it will only get worse. Let's hope that during the next national crisis, our first reaction is to join forces rather than point the finger; which is exactly what I remember hearing on the car radio as I swiftly sped away from the airport on 9/11.

And it's a big deal to me. I have a total of 7 years as an instructor in Navy jets and a list of over 50 Great Americans I know who died in plane crashes. EVERY ONE WAS A BIG DEAL.

i drove by a local cemetary the other day that had a flag in the ground for every soldier, airforce, navy or marine killed in the war so far--- it made me sick to look at it (meaning i understand the sacrifice)-- there were many, many flags. it is a very big deal when anyone dies over there. i hope it ends soon.

We took our oath upon entering the military and vowed to give our lives in order to protect the Constitution of the United States. While such leftist individuals pose anathema to many of us on this board, they are also exercising their right to free speech. While not defending their action, I do find stark irony in such instance. We stand proud by our service to our country even though such people act without a shred of class or decency. God speed to the families and to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
