It's called discernment. You can easily tell when something is mentioned because it is something that happened, rather than something that should be done.

And let's not forget that there are people who believe that the Bible should be taken literally, word for word. I've met some of them. They're frightening.

Since you haven't evidenced any sign of learning, here is a pearl I'll throw before you.

The Old Testament Law can be broken down into three parts:

1. Civil -statues and regulaiton for governing within the nation of Israel.
2. Ritual -regulation for wrodhip and sacrificial practices of the Temple
3. Ethical -God's moral standards for His people.

Christians are to follow that which has been confirmed in the New Testament, and that is the third part, the ethical part.

So no, you can't have partial birth abortion and not commit a sin in God's eye: Exodus 21:22-23 because murder is still a sin.

Anyway...I thought hypocrisy was, say, ranting and raving over the FM airwaves about locking up drug addicts, then becoming one...and not turning yourself over to the cops.

Now that's hypocrisy!

Rush was on AM, and drug addicts and incarceration were hardly ever anything you would ever hear about on there. I even saw an article criticizing him for not talking about drug addictions and such, while he was addicted.

He really did not rant and rave about drugs or jails..Just liberals

I see things better (in some regards) in the Netherlands, Germany and the Nordic countries. I don't see children or the elderly going without healthcare, I don't see rampant gun violence, I don't see people having to choose between their house and an operation, I don't see the widening gap between the very rich and the rest of us, I don't see CEO's making 400 times the average worker. I don't see pilots making $12,000 per year. I don't see presidents being elected by a very narrow margin (a technicality) reneging on their promises to be a moderate and proceeding to install their energy-lobbyist buddies to top level posts in the EPA (talk about blatant balls!) I don't see governments pulling out of the Kyoto Treaty (even though the US is one of the world's worst polluters.)

But you almost certainly are a socialist. That's fine, as long as America does not become such a country. It isn't the intent of the founders, or the people that currently make the US the best place to be, hands down.

As far as "energy buddies" are concerned, energy is one of our top priorities. Without it, we have no economy, no growth, and no life.

Who should be in charge of energy and it's impact on the environment? The very best, most knowlegeable experts in the industry that you can find. It's a VERY good thing that we have an administration that understands the importance of energy fully.

I certainly don't want an EPA head who is more concerned about a spotted owl than wood for houses or fuel for our economy.

I recently spent about 20 minutes in the bookstore reading Franken's latest book about lyars. (Who the hell would by the **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** thing?) Some very interesting stories about "blotchy O'reilly," but not much else. Franken calls himself a satirist, but that's inaccurate. James Swift was a satirist. Satire's purpose is to poke fun and encourage society to improve. Franken just smears people.
