You may say it's none of my business. I don't even fly for Mesa. Why am I concerned? MESA'S TA, if approved, WILL LOWER THE BAR FOR ALL SMALL JET CARRIERS OUT THERE. Jonathan Ornstein will take over the world with minimum wage pilots if we let him.

How can you help? Send an e-mail to Duane Woerth, president of ALPA, and tell him that a concessionary contract for Mesa is not acceptable. His e-mail address is [email protected].

Here is a form letter I have written that I give everyone permission to use:

Dear Capt. Woerth,

I am a pilot for xyz airlines and have concerns over the Mesa Airlines tentative agreement. This TA will give management at my airline fuel to ask for wages and work rules similar to what they have proposed. We cannot allow any airline management to lower the bar in our section of the industry where pay and work rules, in many cases, are already substandard. I urge you to strongly oppose this TA.

Fraternally,

Joe Pilot
XYZ Airlines
ALPA # 123456

Thank you Rank&File!

You are absolutly correct, and I hope the message gets out of the reprocutions of this TA.

Every ALPA pilot, Teamster, and whoever else should write to Duane and let him know, that we as small jet pilots are unwilling to turn the page in the wrong direction.

Mesa for the good of the small jet community, VOTE NO

I just sent Duane Woerth my thoughts on the Mesa TA. Any Mesa pilots care to comment on this campaign started by brothers and sisters from other ALPA carriers?

Ok, let me get this straight. It's ok for Worthless to sign off on PSA's concessionary contract (concessions to a contract that was already near industry bottom and that FORCED the other two WO to follow with concessions) that was ratified by the MEC WITHOUT a VOTE by the members but not ok to sign off on a contract that has industry leading scope, job protections and other small IMPROVEMENTS? I love the double standard on this board and especially the WO pilots. Go ahead and send you letters and emails. It won't matter, I promise! -Bean

Weren't these concessions mandated by the ATSB in order for US Airways to get a government backed loan?

I've never read that anywhere. Only that Segial threatened to shut down any WO who didn't take the concessions. Much like JO threatened to furlough 200 immediately and then keep transferring Mesa flying to Freedumb and shrinking (and furloughing) at Mesa. PSA caves to the threats and takes the concessions and no one says a word. Mesa caves to the threats, agrees to a contract with improvements (small ones but better then give backs) and they are getting crucified. What ever. -Bean

Bean my friend you don't get it. You answered your own question. Just think about it, PSA is a WO, they are US AIR. They are in the same situation COEX was in in the early "90's".

By Mesa signing this TA will take every small jet pilot a step in the wrong direction. When managments walk into negotiations with this POS TA and give it to YOUR PILOT NEGOTIATORS it gets your attention!!!!

Wake up Mesa pilots, you're doing the samething that Freedom has done if you sign this Piece of Sh!t!!!! Only it'll be on a grander scale.

Don't sell out Comair and their 89 day strike! They worked and sacrificed a lot for the betterment of our lives and careers!

Be strong and VOTE NO !

Thanks for the e-mail address my letter is on its way.He wouldn't sign CCAir's contract either,it was also crap.Maybe he will do the same thing here. For the sake of everyone lets hope so!

Noble effort, good idea, but IMO, wishful thinking. This TA does not conflict with ALPA's agenda. If the MESA pilots vote yes, Woerth will sign -- no matter how many letters he gets.

What happens to the pay, work rules or benefits of the MESA pilots or the rest of the regional carriers, is collateral damage; not a part of the "agenda".

MESA pilots: Best wishes and good luck to you all.

folks please be aware that rank&file is a freedom pilot . The freedom pilots dont want the TA because if it passes they are remerged with the mesa pilot group. If it fails then JO proceeds with plan A and shuts mesa down while growing freedom.

PM me for the NC report on why this is the best TA we can get. The scope is word for word our language and is the best in the industry. Watertight.

Mesa Pilots,

Fill me in. I have been hearing that the Freedom pilots will be merged in with Mesa. I guess this is part of the TA on the table now. Do they get merged in by DOH, i.e. most of them will be at the bottom of the Mesa list and Mesa pilots will be able to bid for the jet jobs Freedom is currently holding?

Also, has Freedom been hiring recently and if so does anyone have an updated list of the pilot group over there.

For all you freedom guys out there, don't think you will be able to get on any aircraft I am flying even after you are merged with Mesa should that happen.

Surplus,

You confuse me somtimes. To me, and I could be wrong, but to me it seems like your always saying how much the pilots need to stand up for what they belive to be right and do something. And in your above post its seems like your telling people not to waste their time writting Worth.

What gives? I would think that you of all people would support the pilots who are willing to not just stand idle, but who are at the very least doing something and getting involved.

If we're going to try to change ALPA, would'nt you think it would be best to try from the inside out? Even if these voices fall on deaf ears at least they'll fall. Eventually who ever they fall on is gonna get hurt. It just so happens that things only seem to change when someone gets hurt, right?

Well that changes my opinion of Rank and File.

It doesnt change my opinion of that TA however. You think your scope is airtight? Well your wrong. You are wrong because chapter 11 can change anything. And your scope will be out the window. I dont blame you as you have been the wipping boys for so long. "oh look at what JO did to CC air". Well he cant to that to the whole FREAKIN company!!! You guys are so worried about him shutting down mesa and growing freedom. HE CANT!!! He doesnt have the resorces, airplanes or crews. Plus if Mesa does go tities up because of a labor despute no pilot in there right mind will fly the struck work. Stop telling everyone that this is the best you could do.

In 98 at COEX they came to us with a TA that was the "best they could do" We were told sign it because it was all they could get. Well 85% said screw you and guess what. We got a new TA, and although some of my brethren b1tch about it now, it was leaps and bounds better than the then current contract and much better than the first TA.

My point. Stop complaining and GET IT DONE! YOu can do it and you will have our support!

Guys....Guys.....Guys,I doubt a 8000+ hr. pilot would be working for Fredumb, they are mostly low time idiots that don't know any better.Anyway, with the T/A their gone and without it their gone.Like a previous post stated they don't have the resourses to carry on,JO would be finished. My letter went off to DW tonight hope it helps....good post Rank&File!

Rank&File is not a Freedom pilot, do a search on his post!

CAP KY

AKA Jetdriven would like this TA to pass, because if it does he gets to fly the 700. My opinion of him is "oh well JO is giving us the screw job, but who cares I get to fly the 700." It has nothing to do with MESA going away and has everything to do with getting to fly the 700.

I believe it.....typical attitude of a Mesa wh0re!!! Screw the entire regional industry, as long as I get mine.....

Way to go, dude. You are no friend to all of us, neither is ONE Mesa pilot who votes yes on a contract that sets us all back another decade or so!!!
