I guessing there's not much out there. I tried to find a minor league game to watch with no luck. You guys know anything to do for this coming week?

Yes. Learn how to spell Larado.

Laredo actually.
Man I haven't seen you on this site in a while, don't really miss it either.
I guess I should be nice though because I don't want you to take 8 hours out of your free time to read every post I have ever written and quote me on any stupid comments I wrote when I was drunk. LOL I just remember you ruined some kid on here about a year ago, it was pretty funny. The guy who wrinkled the wings on a Chieften.
Back to the point, anything to do in LAREDO?
I'm not making this up, I found a game, The AMRILLO DILLAS vs. the Laredo Broncos. Should be fun, I just like the name.

Shamus,

I spent quite a few overnights there when I was flying with COEX. Unfortunantely there really isn't that much to do, except maybe going over to Neuvo Laredo. If you do go over there then watch your back. Those border towns can be unfriendly to us Gringos at times. I never went but I have heard countless stories about a Donkey Show. I really don't wanna see one for myself.

As far as Avbug goes, wanna bet he doesn't reference this post anymore and doesn't even give you the courtesy of a response?

I'll work on it when I find myself in laredo...something I strive hard to avoid, for the most part. It's certainly something he can work on while he's bored in laredo.

As for social skills, kiss my grits.

You must fly for America West, Continental, or Southwest! Don't apologize...just seek help. Before someone turns you in...

That is some advice we can all take. Laredo sucks.

Settle down Flo. I know menopause is rough but you dont have to use such foul language.

...you dont have to use such foul language.

Chrip, chirp, caw, tweet. Bet you're wondering what I would have posted, were I a college graduate...

Or was that fowl language?

I think you are getting your "foul's" mixed up.

I knew I should have gone to school.

If foul is bad, is a bad bird or a foul fowl a double negative? Does that make a good bird? If a good bird fouls up, does he cease to exist? If a foul fowl falls in the forest, does it make a sound?

Would that sound be fowl?

Nuevo Laredo, the lawless city west of the Rio Grande. Lawless, you read it correctly. Every chief of police they had in the last few years has been assasinated by the drug kartel that now rules the city. They shoot first, ask questions later. Quite a few people haven't made it back from a trip across the river. Watch your back as someone already said

About the only question they ask is "who's next?"

Tons to do in LRD. Border town. Cross the bridge and go to Newla. Been there lots of time with no problem. Good food and lots of Happy Hrs.

Don't go to Nuevo Laredo.... Not like it used to be. Most of the border towns are now most known for murders and herion.

Wow, you guys suck at advice...

Laredo has nothing to do if its day time.

However, when the sun sets...there are SO MANY CLUBS...it is stupid. If your into Spanish women you have more than you know what to do with. There are so many hot women its nuts and they all come out at night.

Your at the Holiday Inn? I would recommend you ask a local how to get to the clubs on Del Mar. There are like five within a two block area. There are many other spots around town you can check out. But at least there you can crawl and it is about two miles from your hotel for cheap cab fare. This is a good website to find some club names... http://www.laredoheat.com/index2.html

If your looking for a chill place to relax and have cheap beer try the Cold brew. it is in the shopping center across the street from Planque...by burlington coat factory. Cheap beer...and they have many imports including Guinness.

Now, if you have a mountain bike i can tell you where to go...and if you want to drag race your rental car...I can tell you where the 1/4 mile strip is...if you want some good places to eat across....I can tell you also...its fine in the day time and night time....just stay on the main street that the bridge cross over on and don't go at alone. And there is always the...errr...world famous donkey show if your wanting to..errrrr.... expand your horizons.

Yeah, maybe I have lived in laredo before :P

There's a municipal golf course right on the river...Not a bad course, a little beat up but some nice long fairways. Cheap too, rental clubs, cart and green fees came to about 25 bucks. Had a Border Patrol agent join us (pretty damn good golfer) and he explained the sirens wailing about every 20 minutes or so was another espalda mojada coming across to the land of milk and honey.

Guard the border. Shoot Mexicans!

personally I think that Los Asada's is better than Taco Palenque, less greasy.

Beware, the strip club in LRD is topless only. what a waste of talent.

That might be true...but most of the girls are mexican...which means they have very good work ethic!

And I believe there are several Russian girls at exoticas....

Wankel

Shamus, I found this for your interest if you like. Have a laptop or computer then coast over to www.hellolaredo.com a friendly website with a few ideas.

Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra- check dates and times
Laredo Little Theatre- for the actor at heart
Laredo Center for the Arts
2 Movies theaters
La Posaso Hotel and Suites- Has a "swim-up" Bar
Or Head to the Casa Blanca State park for fishing, boating, water sports, ect!

I've walked over the border into Mexico with a group, never had any problems, keep your money either stuffed down your underwear or in your socks though as a precaution. Tequilla and Tacos are abundant!

Hey Wankel, you forgot to mention "expanding your horizons" by feeling up dudes dressed like chicks! Haaahahahahaaa!

Good times, Laredo. The donkey show will be a good story to tell over and over again.
