Spinning Compass off to it's own MEC was the first step in allowing this to happen. I would say Moak et al have had this in mind all along. None of us at Compass want this to happen, but trying to stop it now may be like trying to put the s**t back in the horse.

As a Captain at Mesaba,
If this situation is more than just flame bait it MUST be stopped. I think this became more of an issue with the Republic purchase of Midwest and Frontier.

You can just hear the company line can't you: "Lee we need to be able to compete with Midwest and Frontier because our mainline wage scale is so much higher than their regional pilot contract rates."

Too bad Delta is helping Republic compete with all of us by giving them contracts. But heck how could Delta possibly be helping Republic - those aircraft aren't being flown under a company with a Delta ASA. Yep no problem. Now Delta wants 195's at Compass...No correlation. Just ignore the man behind the curtain.

If Capt Moak is even entertaining this idea, then some kind of union special election needs to happen. Short term gain along with promises later are meaningless once the planes are at Compass. Just cause it's easy to add 195's to the Compass cert is no reason for this.

I may ease up slightly if I was shown a signed purchase contract for main line aircraft to start delivery on a specific date. I may ease up slightly by allowing additional 175's (not 195's) to be added to Compass. But I would ease up only at the 1 to 3 ratio or whatever it is says in the scope. My ease would come in that Compass could get them before the aircraft got on property. MAYBE

Oh great, Compass flying the 195..that's all we need. Another ego booster for the already puffed up Compass pilots. Stop this crap now!

I stated this was the desire a year ago. They do not want to bring the CPS cert in house and have us fly it. Too expensive they say.
It is a lot cheaper for them to have CPS fly the 195 which is the same type. They are correct in stating that.

My solution, Make CPS DAL, and make CPS Pilots DAL pilots.

I have talked to many reps from North and South and they are stating that this is not an option. Then again, I can see us falling for this........

It has been the desire for the company for some time. They need the jets now, can get 60 month leases on 195's and want em at CPS by next spring so they can fly them out of NYC. Better yet they want to do this so they do not have to award more flying to RJET.

Bait and switch. Enough is enough. Jets and jobs are ours. KMA if you think otherwise.

I don't know if this fits into this discussion, but at the regional level, there are rumors coming straight from ALPA that Compass may be for sale and the Republic is itching to buy to get the aircraft.
The deal is trying to be done by the summer.

Not to bait the flame. Just what I've heard from ALPA National types in the last week.
