I agree, and I think that if the company thinks that the pilots will just put their hand in their pockets and walk away from this they are sorely mistaken. It will be a defining moment in DALPA's history.

Real smart leading to 2012.

I have talked to many reps from North and South and they are stating that this is not an option

And why is this not an option? Because it would be to painful?

ALPA deserves to be decertified if this EVER comes to light. Oh, can I send Lee my mortgage statement for him to pay while I'm thrown out in the street?

I'd go for it if they agree to stop flying the 100-seater at CPS the day they can get their hands on the c-series, no furloughs until that same date, bring back C2K payrates, and up the DC amount to 20%. If we got some good lawyers to put that in writing so they had no way out of it, I might take the chances of letting CPS fly them for a few years.

Might need the 195 to sweeten the deal.

Pretty close to what was actually said.

Delta is supposedly the instigator in this rumored deal with Republic, but that Republic might be looking for a little more than what Compass has on their current property.

I was thinking money or contract but the 195s would certainly sweeten it.

Simple, CPS is a W/O of DAL, operate it like song with DAL pilots on the DAL PWA. Anything less is totally unacceptable.

FWIW, talked to two reps and they told me Hell no! It is suicide.

I am done with giving the company deals that raise their bonus, undermine my job and take flying away from us.

Unless they give us a 10 billion dollar note, their word on the C-Series coming here would not be worth the paper it is written on.
(We had to sign a contract for 10 years for them to buy CPS, blah blah blah)

Guys, just make sure you are getting your opinion across to your reps. Don't not get lulled into thinking your voice doesn't matter. There has to date been little emails or calls to ALPA on this matter(at least nothing more than the ordinary). There is always tough talk on the boards here and on DALPA forum, but no follow through. If only a handful call or write, they consider things to be a non issue in my observations. Please, I can't say it enough, get your opinion heard. Remember ALPA represents both mainline and regional pilots, make sure they understand where our percentage stands!

That is the problem. They need to ask, go seek out input from the group on issues like this. Really this is a no brainer.

Our 44 Chair stated he had not heard that, and that it was political suicide for ALPA if they did it as the pilot do not want that. To me it appears they get it. If they act differently, then they are going against their own words.

is there an email for DAL alpa that non DAL/Alpa guys can use to express our view on this to the DAL guys?

This might be a dumb question, but how exactly do I get a hold of my reps? Do I just send an e-mail saying I am fully against any more relaxation of scope or are we supposed to call? I'm not exactly an active union pilot, but I am up-to-date on my dues.

You are in good standing and therefore have a voice.

Call, e-mail, text, sms, etc. Make them get the point. I do all of the above.

That is the issue, pilots think they do not have a say unless they are involved, you do.

Where those airplanes go is where they will stay. I'll bet my paycheck on that.

The company will also bet you paycheck on it too!

I told everyone this about a month ago. I saw this type of deal coming. It makes such sense for the company to push this. They need the jets for the LGA stuff. The need 100 seats. The MD-90 et al is too big for a lot of it, and the 175 is a bit too small.

I got the impression that the company can ask as much as they want, but that we would never agree to it.

This makes me sick to my stomach to even contemplate it. We are now reaping what we have sown by NOT voting in Dnestor and like types in the last round of elections. If this current MEC agrees to this abomination then there needs to be a recall drive immediately. If the recall drive does not work then ALPA needs to be decertified. We would do better on our own, hell we could do better being non-union if this were the case and keep our 1.98% for ourselfs. Alright, I am no longer sick to my stomach...I am pi$$ed off to no end!!!
