Any midlevel seniority jetblue guys leaving to go elsewhere? If so, where and why? Just curious.

In my class we have guys who have left for Delta, FedEx, UPS, SWA and Usair. Most of the reasons revolve around pay, retirement, long term viability and the most prominent reason is merger protection.

About 5 months ago when I was down in initial there was a rumor that there were approx 150 requests for PRIA records from FedEx for pilots currently at JB

FedEx is a tough life for a lot of guys. During 05,06,07 we had significant attrition. Greater than 10%. Should airlines start hiring again you will see the same thing.

Lots of guys I know interviewed at FedEx. Now if they get hired/take the job that is a different story. My guess is that most will go. Second year at FedEx beats most pay rates at Jetblue.

Remember all the pilots who left SWA, FedEx, UPS, etc in 2000-2001 for the great jobs at UAL, AAL, DAL, NWA, USAirways. When you make a move there is an element of luck. Often is will take 10 years before you know if you made the right move.

I think there will be a noticeable, not expansive, attrition of mid to senior FO's at Jblue for the majors in 2013. The draw of heavy international metal will win over schedules and bases. It's the pilots way.
