Been awhile since I have overnighted. Will be there all weekend. Anyone have dining suggestions, best hotel for the money, things to do that are worth the money....
I really like Del Friscos for steaks (the halibut is amazing, too). It's off the strip but well worth the <$10 cab fare. Another amazing steak place is Prime at the Bellagio. For great seafood checkout AquaKnox at the Venetian. The portions aren't the biggest but it's the best I've ever had on the Strip. Next door to AquaKnox is TAO which IMHO is the hippest nightclub for the 25-40 crowd (with a lot less tattoos and sideways baseball caps than the over-hyped Hard Rock). For hotels, if you stay anywhere between the Wynn and MGM Grand, you'll be able to walk to plenty of activities.
Embassy Suites is a nice place to go after you lose all your money at the casino! (Convenient access to all the hot spots without a bunch of drunk college kids banging on the all the doors as they run down the hallway at 3 AM.)
Luxor is good, but I agree with the off-the-strip guys. Once you have had your fill of Vegas, hit the hotels that are off-strip. Somebody said that the casino-hotels spend as little money as possible on beds so people gamble more instead of sleep and I would have to agree with that......its about like sleeping on the floor.....actually the floor might be more comfortable.
