I'm pretty sure you are referring to Sheldon Adelson's operation, which would be the Venetian, not the Sands.
The 2 L1011's being flown are both ex Saudi Royal Family birds - both very low time aircraft.Any contact info on these guys? Anyone have an email address or number? Is it actually operating on a USA(FAA) certificate? US crews , etc. ?? I wonder who's old L10s they're using. Sounds intersting... the TriStar is an awesome airplane..., ... unfortunately just not much future left in flying them. Thanks
Stay away! First hand info that the owner and crews are total jerks over there on the heavy equipment. Take it for what it's worth.
AZT
I know several of the crews including a couple that are designated to go on the L1011's when they enter service. I would hardly call any of them "jerks". Maybe they don't cotton to you for some reason but hardly worth calling them names on a public forum.
Any of you have a Whale type? His 747SP arrived this week.
Anyone know the background on the SP?
It's a 747SP31, s/n 21961, the 415th 747 built. Delivered to TWA in March of 1980 as N58201, sold to the Gov't of the United Arab Emirates as A6-SMR in February of 1985.Anyone know the background on the SP?

That was probably s/n 21992, which was in Roswell from October 2004 through April 2007. The history on that one is delivered to Braniff, sold to Pan Am, on to United, on to the Oman Gov't, until October 2004, when it became a resident in Roswell. It left Roswell for San Bernardino on April 28th of this year. Thanks for the info. I saw one in Roswell all sealed up and thought it was that. I think that one is an Amiri A/C.
