Tathepilot,

Now I’m curious; what’s your obsession with Key Lime Air? You worry me; because honestly, why else do you want to work for an outfit that must have about the worst reputation in the industry!!
There is no obsession with KLA.
I just want some facts about this company.
Considering it's my 'first' interview and all.

DrRaptor,

The only reason keyLime got the Denver hub was because an employee from Superior got kicked out of Superior, went to Key Lime and told them for how much Superior was bidding for the contract. Of course Key lime was able to bid lower and got the routes. Then they had to find aircraft (most from Superior came over), so for a while they had contracters flying. Why could key lime underbid Superior: very low pilot pay, pay to sit right seat f/o's (who are also the ones cleaning windshields and pulling GPU plugs), double up in hotel rooms, not paying bills (I know people who are still owed money, also from what I understand one of the contracters quit for that reason).
They don't have maintenance in DEN, for everything they have to repo to APA. With 20-30 aircraft on a ramp at one time you would think there would be a mechanic available with a stocked van to change a tire, light bulb, or fix other small problems.
I also have heard some weird stories how maintenance is (not) done and what happens if you write something up a few times.
Oh yes, the pilots are a good bunch of guys.
If you don't have a job, take theirs till you get something else, if you have a job, keep plugging away till you find something else.

First of all DR Raptor Doesn't know his A$$ from a hole in the ground quit trying to kiss someones a$$ that looks at these forums. I flew for Key Lime about 5 years ago and no the same mechanics do not work on the flights planes that work on the 135 Planes. They pressure their pilots into doing things, they do double you up in hotels or a nasty crew apt, hope you don't divert cause they will leave you sitting in a FBO all day, they are very cheap underpay their pilots and do not treat people well cause they know you will only be there for about 6 months to a year. The only thing I can say is it is good experience I can not stress enough STAND YOUR GROUND IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE they will pressure you. good luck if you do go there.

Just interviewed with Key lime. Hope the info isn't to late to help. Interview was very basic. Allot of HR questions, why Key lime. What are your goals, etc. Chief pilot pulled out an approach plate and had me brief the approach. No other questions were asked about the approach. Then took a simulator ride. They tell you what approaches you are going to shoot ahead of time. Also told me the type of failures I would have on each approach. Very basic and easy, just checking your basic instrument skills.

Shot one ILS with and engine failure, then one NDB with artificial horizon failure.

Good Luck

So did I. The hr part of it went very well.
Now the sim :(
It was an ast300. The sim was very sensitive. Maybe I should have prepared a little better. Things that you do in an airplane can't be done in this sim because you will be all over the place.
As a matter of fact I looked kinda foolish.
Should I expect this from all of the sims that I fly on an interview?
I've never flown a sim like this before. Only a pcatd.
Well all in all it was a great experience.
On the jetblue flight over I sat next to a Chief Pilot from an upcoming fractional that is hiring like crazy. He gave me his contact info and said if it doesn't work out with Lime send him a resume over.

tathepilot,

Just be glad it didn't work out with KeyLime.
Things happen for a reason and this one might have saved your life.
There are better outfits out there, just be patient and eventually you'll get on with one.
For now, keep working on building time (according to your profile)
