Well, garf12, since no one else is addressing this:garf12 said:ummm I'm I missing something, why is this guy getting flamed soooo bad? Im just a private pilot for fun, not planning on making a carrer out of it. I am just wondering what this guy did wrong?
The big deal here is that another pilot has succumbed to the lure of PFT, which stands for Pay For Training, or more accurately, paying for a job. The poster in question will, if this is a genuine post and not merely an example of flame bait, pay a large sum of money to Gulfstream for the right to sit in the right seat of one of their scheduled turboprop aircraft. This demeans the piloting profession, and circumvents the normal progression of a piloting career, essentiallly "cutting in line" in front of pilots who have been both dilligent and patient.KigAir said:So I have decided to do something productive about it that will put my career on the fast track. Yesterday I got “the call” from Mark Ottoesen that I have been accepted in Gulfstream’s First Officer Program yippee!!! I just submitted my application online 5 days ago and within 4 days of submitting it I got a response from the president no less!
Oh Ok now I understand, but I have to admit if I had the money and I was wanting to be a pilot and I wasnt getting anywhere, I think I would do this?Timebuilder said:Well, garf12, since no one else is addressing this:

As you might imagine, this really angers most of us. It lowers the value of a pilot, and supports the idea that a pilot will do almost anything to get into an airplane. That idea is something less than an image of a professional, isn't it?
Do a search here on the board on "Gulfstream" and on "PFT."

While your post was funny,I can't help but point out that when you call someone a moron, make sure you don't make yourself out to be one as well by saying"Your a moron",while everyone with a 4th grade education knows it's "You're a moron". Sorry...that one was too good to let go.![]()

Where is the airpark?
My house. I was watching late night Chem Trails (neve saw them at night, before). It was way cool. Had some BBQ, sitting on what will soon be a completed deck. Nice thing about the deck is it's all composite, don't have to worry about the greas staining it.KigAir said:Anybody know where I can eat BBQ while watching chem trails?

So did I, my personal best so far. Even smoked a Pork shoulder butt that turned out some killer pulled pork sandwiches...a few brews, awesome!TEXAN AVIATOR said:Smoked a great Brisket over the holiday![]()

(Insert sarcasm here)SDCFI said:Wow, that looks a lot like my office. Only they're paying ME 20k to sit there. Imagine that. Pretty ironic, as I write this there's a commercial on Disc Wings for PanAm academy as a fast-track to the airlines.
It's Xtendex, a hollow composite, with clips so no screw holes. Pretty cool stuff.Timebuilder said:How would you compare that deck to a wood model?
Sound, feel, etc?
We should have a flight info cookoff!low-n-slow said:So did I, my personal best so far. Even smoked a Pork shoulder butt that turned out some killer pulled pork sandwiches...a few brews, awesome!
