Cook the chicken at a low temperature for a longer time, then for the last few minutes, brush on the sauce and turn up the heat to finish it up. BBQ sauce will burn if it's exposed to high heat for more than a few minutes, so you need to cook the chicken most of the way without it.enigma said:I need some help here boys. I've been a little short of cash lately, a situation that has resulted in my inability to purchase proper BBQ ingredients. Specifically, meat. So I bought a package of chicken leg and thigh combos the other day to throw on the grill. The first couple, I tried to grill with skin on, they burned. The next couple, I tried to grill skin off, they burned. Then I tried leaving the cheap BBQ sauce off, until the chicken was almost done. It burned less, but still got charred.
HELP ME, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO ELIMINATE BURNED CHICKEN?
That out to get this thread on the proper track.

Dry rub, How could have I missed that? I used to cook yard bird in a weber smoker, with the meat quite a way from the flame. The weber went south, so I tried the grill. The weber was perfect. I didn't really use it as a slow cooker for chicken, nor as a smoker, I guess that it sort of acted as an oven. I guess that I'll try some dry rub, and go buy myself another weber.EagleRJ said:Try a dry rub on the raw chicken, then brush on sauce when it's almost done!

Well, garf12, since no one else is addressing this:garf12 said:ummm I'm I missing something, why is this guy getting flamed soooo bad? Im just a private pilot for fun, not planning on making a carrer out of it. I am just wondering what this guy did wrong?
The big deal here is that another pilot has succumbed to the lure of PFT, which stands for Pay For Training, or more accurately, paying for a job. The poster in question will, if this is a genuine post and not merely an example of flame bait, pay a large sum of money to Gulfstream for the right to sit in the right seat of one of their scheduled turboprop aircraft. This demeans the piloting profession, and circumvents the normal progression of a piloting career, essentiallly "cutting in line" in front of pilots who have been both dilligent and patient.KigAir said:So I have decided to do something productive about it that will put my career on the fast track. Yesterday I got “the call” from Mark Ottoesen that I have been accepted in Gulfstream’s First Officer Program yippee!!! I just submitted my application online 5 days ago and within 4 days of submitting it I got a response from the president no less!
Oh Ok now I understand, but I have to admit if I had the money and I was wanting to be a pilot and I wasnt getting anywhere, I think I would do this?Timebuilder said:Well, garf12, since no one else is addressing this:

As you might imagine, this really angers most of us. It lowers the value of a pilot, and supports the idea that a pilot will do almost anything to get into an airplane. That idea is something less than an image of a professional, isn't it?
Do a search here on the board on "Gulfstream" and on "PFT."

While your post was funny,I can't help but point out that when you call someone a moron, make sure you don't make yourself out to be one as well by saying"Your a moron",while everyone with a 4th grade education knows it's "You're a moron". Sorry...that one was too good to let go.![]()
