I aslo got the 400xp with an indoc of may 12th, sim in TOL Jun 2nd. I am very excited!!! For those out there that want to know, I sent my app in right after thanksgiving, got the app acceptence mail early jan, invited to interview early feb, and interviewed Mar 5/6. Captain 007, Ill see ya may 12th.
SH, I was a weird one. Originally interviewed early Dec (yes 2007). Not hired or told no for months. Mid-Feb asked to come back for sim only. Did that 3/12. Called 3/20 but only Ultra availible. I waited and was called again yesterday. I took the Sovereign with indoc on 4/28. A long and sometimes frustrating wait, but it worked out in the end.
I was called this morning by Linda and offered the job. I have a May 12th ground school class in the Hawker 400xp. I am really excited and thankful.
Does anyone have any info on the Hawker 400xp?
Thank you and I looking forward to working with everyone at NetJets.
Oh yes, the mighty Beechjet....I mean Hawker 400XP. I've been on that plane for about 4 months now, and I think I might have 50 hours. So let's see, that would mean I fly about 10 hours a month. In fact last tour I flew 1.8 hours in 5 days!
I used to fly the 560, so sorry to hear you turned it down. Yeah, it's not sexy looking, and it's slow, but it was fun to fly.
About the 400: There are three conditions you will find the 400 in. 1) Broken, 2) Sitting hot spare all day, every day, 3) Unable to fly do to performance limitations. Other than that, on that rare occasion you actually get air-born, it's fun to fly. You'll like the spoilers for roll control, and you'll get a kick out of the endless performance charts you have to look at from time to time. (1st segment climb, 2nd, final segment, brake energy, takeoff and landing distance....and on and on and on.)
Good luck, I'm sure I will see you on line soon.
She isn't a speed demon. The Mmo is .80 and typical cruise at FL410 with 80% max weight is going to be .76-.78.
Welcome aboard! Great company and a good airplane.
.76! Wow....
If we want to slow to that we usually just shut down both engines and let the APU exhaust push us!
Cue the X comments....
Got your email and sent the card!
What we lack in speed we make up for in legs. We have been BUSY!
Spread the word! Now if I can just convert everyone to Mac and Toyota.
What we have in speed we marry it with legs as well (my a$$ is not pleased about that.) Plus the cabin is pimping big...so big I should really have a standup vacuum!
I ran into a 680 crew the other day (they are all ok) and they looked beat. They said they were flying quite a bit. I flew 30 hours in seven days but went to some cool places.
does the overtime come from working extra days per month, or working longer during scheuled days? just curious, thanks.
Both.
We have hourly overtime payments that kick in after 12 hours on duty in a given day. Or, if you report before 8am on your first day (as I did today), all time before 8am and all time after 9 hours of duty pays the overtime. (The rate is your annual salary, divided by 2184 hours, and multiplying the result by 1.5. A year 1 guy on the 7/7 would earn $39.06/hr, for example.)
We also earn "Extended days," which pay 1.5 times your daily rate. Those are paid for working extra days (of course), working on one of our 10 designated holidays (I cleaned up last weekend, with Good Friday and Easter!), and if the company doesn't get you home before midnight on your last day (that pays two of them). On the 7/7, the daily rate is your annual salary divided by 182 (then multiply by 1.5 for the extended day rate). For a first year guy, that's $468.75.

Everyone keeps saying how busy the XL fleet is. Over the last two months I have averaged 10 hours a tour and no overtime...
HELM, Capt 007, Welcome Gents. This is an "E-ticket" ride. If I can be of any assist. email me.
